I think the format itself is treated as way more obstructive than I've found it. It's not pretty by any means, and initially it was difficult to navigate because I'd been used to vbulletin and shit like that, but it really isn't anywhere close to as unreadable as a lot of people make it out to be, imo.

The one unforgivable feature on that site is the AWFUL FUCKING SEARCH FUNCTION. Opaque, restrictive and essentially useless. I'm completely ignorant as to whether or not it's logistically possible to make it better, but foreal, you can't even search for specific content within a thread. For that, they get a /10.

Reddit is both terrible and great. Sometimes at the same time. It's great if you need something useful or are part of a niche community and need instant support or answer to a question.
