I paid $40 for Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 off eBay last month.  :fbm

At least I don't have to pay $100 for Metroid Prime Trilogy now.  :^)

Before anyone gets super excited about the gamepad being used for all Wii games, that's not true.  You can only use the Gamepad if the original game supported Classic Controller controls.

So Galaxy 2 still requires wii remote/nunchuck

Wii VC is just a wrapper, basically a Wii ISO that activates Wii mode, just like it works now.

metroid prime trilogy for $10 is great.  weird that mario galaxy 2 is there but not 1.  maybe they're doing a full remaster type deal or a new 3DS port.  probably same reason xenoblade won't show up to leech the 3ds port.

and that majora's mask 3ds xl doesn't come with majora's mask...or a charger.

Wii VC is just a wrapper, basically a Wii ISO that activates Wii mode, just like it works now.

notable difference is gamepad controls for games that support classic controllers.   wii mode can be updated to support it, and I don't know why it wasn't there day one, but we'll see.

Never played Galaxy 2 but Lost the Nunchuck years ago. €10 for a game that's still €40 pre-owned is pretty much a steal

I already have Galaxy 2 retail, but I might buy again since it's half-off. Definitely picking up Prime Trilogy. Might also pick up Punch Out!! despite owning that as well.

I know this is going to come off as overreacting, but I think I may get rid of my 3DS XL and game collection now.

I wanted the regular N3DS-- I have a Japanese model already and find it so much more comfortable to use than the XL. So with this move, I think I may just sell off everything and use some of the money to rebuy the Japanese versions of games I really like, then just buy Japanese games from this point on.  There's so few 3DS games I even care about anyway.

One thing I do not understand about this are the faceplates-- you'd think this would be a big selling point for them over here and it would be the XL that doesn't get a U.S. release.

Where's the Amiibos :drool

I don't know why Nintendo thinks locking in 3DS at $200 for another year or so is a good move. The console is already dying off and I don't see how an overpriced 32x revision is going to be a net positive for them.

I think it's considered virtual console.

whatever happened to DS virtual console on the Wii U? I remember an announcement from last year or the year before.

At $20 it's kind of questionable. But at the introductory price of $10 I'm ok with it. Particularly Metroid Prime Trilogy. I passed on it on the Wii already owning all the Prime games, but given that I like to avoid busting out the old consoles as much as possible, I would love to have it on the hard drive since I can't simply pop in the old GC discs anymore.

While the $20 price tag is bad compared to how other older software is usually priced, the used market for a lot of Nintendo stuff getting snuffed out is satisfying.

Well, these are literally just the Wii games. So, if the Wii game had waggle, these will too. The GamePad support is only for games that already supported the Classic. So, you can use the GamePad with Punch Out!. But Galaxy 2 and Prime Trilogy are still going to require the WiiMote because that's the only way they worked on the Wii.

LOL, so what I read was bullshit.  Pass.

Unless I'm mistaken, the only enhancements these downloadable versions offer over the Wii disc versions is the following:

- Don't have to boot to Virtual Wii first.
- GamePad registers as a Classic Controller now instead of only displaying the video stream.

Yeah, the naming is stupid as fuck as per Nintendo's usual confusion.

Should just be called Xenoblade 2.  That's what I'm calling it to keep it less confusing.

Putting their wii games on the eshop seems like a no brainer, but it should be more of the new games every week style like Sony was doing on the PS3.

Putting a spot light on 3 non HD remakes is a big meh

Yeah. I largely don't care about this save for two things:

1.) I like the implications of this giving more options for the games you'll get gouged on at the resale market (i.e. Prime Trilogy now and hopefully Xenoblade later).
2.) $10 is a fair price, even if it's just the special introductory price.

Once stuff starts launching at $20 I'll be very reluctant to pull the trigger.

I had to goddamn scramble to GameStop and pre-purchase the Majora's Mask 3DS XL in full because I happened to not be able to be in proximity to a PC for a whole 15 minutes. I mean I'm a grown-ass man and shouldn't really give a shit about this stuff but these things used to never sell out in literal minutes.

Or maybe it's because I just never tried purchased a limited edition Zelda console before, lol.

It's the New 3DS XL and at the same price as the other systems so I figured I would spring for that one.

The web in-store pre-ordering that I did for this LE system and the LE Majora's Mask game is a apparently a secret backdoor at GameStop. Unlike pre-ordering you get shafted for the full amount but it absolutely 100% guarantees you a copy since it's a completely seperate stock from the online and in-store pre-orders.
