If you want a fuckin crybaby spider-man that's great. At least Garfield knew how to eat some fuckin lasagna.

Second one I thought was good. Never cared for the 1st and 3rd.

By the time they rebooted it, I was pretty much done with superhero flicks.

Dude is too much of a pussy to be taken seriously. Way to EMO for Spidey imo.
YMMV

The second one did me in. That first 30 minutes where they keep hammering the same plot point over your head, then that cheesy train scene where they carry him like Christ, having to suffer through Kirsten Dunst again when they should have introduced Gwen Stacey instead. The saving grace of course was Alfred Molina playing Doc Ock. Probably the best comic book villain portrayal I've seen (Loki being a close second).

Never saw the third one and haven't seen either of the reboot ones. I just don't understand who would want to watch more Spider man movies at this point.

And that's funny because they can continue to pump out batman movies as much as they like and I'll watch them all.

And best comic book villain ever is a tie between Devito as the Penguin and Jack as the Joker (honorable mention, Heath's version) :ufup
YMMV

My problem with toby spider-man is that he's boring. Where's the one liners? Where's the quips? CHRIST. I enjoyed Amazing Spider-man MUCH more than all of toby's movies except the second. Finally Spider-man is Spider-man in movie form.

Topher Grace would've crushed it. Such a missed opportunity, still can't think of another actor from then or now who would've been better.

Topher Grace would have been better, but I liked Toby. I also liked Andrew Garfield. Raime’s 1&2, and the first Garfield movie were all good fun. Plenty enjoyable. Too bad both series went out on a really, really low note. Raime’s 3 and ASM2 were horribad.

Whatever you want to say about the series is fine, it had a ton of problems,  but the fact that they pulled off a credible superhero movie with the first one was a minor miracle. It wasn't the same level of achievement Peter Jackson pulled off with FotR, but it was pretty close.

I enjoyed Spider Man 3 in the theater. It's not a good movie but I maintain it was a fun comedy. I remember POTC3 came out that summer too and it was waaaaaay worse.

I maintain that the first two Blade movies are really where modern superhero films first got good.

although I loved the bits of Raimi-ness that snuck into the Spider-Man trilogy.

Both Spiderman 1 and 2 have not aged well in a post-Iron Man world. That said, comic book movies probably wouldn't be what they are today without those movies, so if you're into that kinda thing you owe Sam Raimi a debt of gratitude.
