is it worth playing? What rpg does it resemble?

battle system definitely has its flaws but overall it's a great prequel to ff7

Some beautiful graphics for the system, and a great ending... but the main villain is one of the lamest villains in all of gaming, and the slot-style system for leveling up/doing attacks is weird. Also, I'd advise you to not do the side missions, since they are all the same thing over and over.

 It's alright. If you want to pick up a fun action role-playing game for a portable Sony system then you are better off getting one of the Ys games.
