It amazes me that all those CBS/network shows exist and get amazing ratings while cable and premier shows have surpassed them on every quality level imaginable. What type of person watches shit like that? I don't know any of them.

apt ending for the show tbh. they didn't give a fuck the whole time so why bother making a good ending?

2.5M i get. endless parade of pawgs  :lawd and constant shit-talking. up to when the kid started getting noticeably older it's funny enough for some network shit.

2 broke girls isn't all that funny but there's worse ways to spend 30 mins than watching kat dennings and beth behrs. idk how that short asian dude hasn't jumped off a building w/ all the offensive shit his character has to endure. checks must be nice

it's BBT that i don't get. one of my basic cable channels finally got it on syndication. now that i've gotten a chance to watch a good chunk of the episodes i cannot understand what folks actually find funny about it. it might get 1 laugh an ep from me. and if you dropped the laugh track (or audience queued laughter) out i think most folks that watch it would realize that.

cbs just has middle america conditioned well.
what cable comedies gain in quality they lose in mass appeal.

How can you honestly say that? You have a job where you interact with society, right? Consider the intelligence of the average American... then realize that half the country is dumber than that person.

On the asian dude note, aren't network show gigs notoriously cushy for actors? If you can get a serious regular spot and it hits syndication at least. As long as you don't develop some debilitating drug addiction to deal with the soul crushing you can kinda coast after that. Between Roseanne & BBT Johnny Galecki probably never does anything based on "need."

I don't think I see too many people talk about Two and a Half Men. Horrible show, but can't say I've seen too many people stan for it. Mostly I see the "It's not THAT bad" types when defending the show.

Big Bang Theory is definitely popular all over, though. Now that show is a beast I'll never understand.
yeah they both kind of hinge on that lowest common denominator Family Guy humor where you laugh at people acting different instead of actually saying funny things. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that TaaHM wasn't that unfunny through the first couple seasons, albeit one-note (show can't run a plot that doesn't have to do with sex; characters exhibit Nintendo-tier levels of depth). TBBT is totally irredeemable, shit is the entertainment equivalent of mayonnaise. I fucked with Harold's mother because lolJews but she's dead now so :yeshrug.

Those shows all have a penchant for creating these super abrasive characters (Judith, Berta, Sheldon) that I don't get why anyone would enjoy watching.

I'm sitting over here thinking he was supposed to be an older version of the kid because hes flabby as fuck in this scene.

Haven't watched this in years  :yeshrug

I know a couple people at work who watch 2 Broke Girls but I literally don't know anyone who watches Two and a Half Men religiously. Whenever people talk about television at work it revolves around:

-Breaking Bad
-Modern Family
-reality tv shows
etc

And some folks talk about HBO/Starz stuff like Game Of Thrones or Homeland
