Boxing isn't boring, it's boxing with dudes their size that is boring. Its all speed and little power. There is rarely ever any consequences for making a mistake or letting your guard down. So, you get these kinds of fights that go to the judges.
In the 80s middleweights around 150 to 160 and even lower provided amazing fighters with lots of different styles.
The problem for me is strictly Mayweather or more accurately, super technical defensive fighters. It's all just really boring. I can appreciate it in an academic way and its not his fault but his style is just utterly boring unless you are a hardcore boxing nerd.
To me this felt like the last gasp of big time boxing. Now that this fight is done and in the books, I go back to not caring about boxing until the next big fight in 30 years just before I die.
It's sad because I grew up loving boxing, but the sport is so fucked in its future prognosis imo.
