The only way for Manny to pull this off is to get lucky and land a good body shot that slows Floyd down long enough for him to check his chin. And that's not going to be easy to do.

Floyd has a good chin. I honestly can't remember seeing him get dropped like that, it's been a while since I watched him fight.

Honestly though, manny hits hard with his left straight and right hook on occasion but above 140lb he was kind of mostly like an accumulation / bleeding tko type finisher. I just don't see him getting the lucky one hit kill.

Hence why I said check his chin, no guarantees. However at his age and with his net worth protected I wonder how much of a beating Floyd would take before he just went down and collected his money? Have to factor that in, he really has nothing to prove.

I also think estimating 4,000,000 buyers on the PPV for $100 bucks a pop might be a little pie in the sky. They have taken so long to get this fight together and they have aged so much I think it's going to turn off guys like we are seeing in this thread.

Doubtful they will be able too. Floyd's camp is pretty particular on that crap. They feel like one guy paying 5,000 isn't worth losing 500 individual investors.

regardless - this is pretty much guaranteed to be Mayweathers last fight IMO

I dislike Mayweather on a personal level but he is clearly a boxing phenomenon - he is a defensive boxing text book personified. There is nothing i would love more than Manny to do what he did to Hatton - but that simply isn't going to happen: Mayweather will sit and absorb it all and pick Manny off - no knock outs and i expect the fight to be pretty awful to watch.

I am hoping that somehow Manny finds a punch early that puts Mayweather on his arse so we have a real fight on our hands - but i can't see it.

That's why boxing sucks ass. You rarely get to see fighters fight each other in their prime and when they do have a 'big event' the undercard is a joke. They should be using it to promote future fighters/contenders. But every promoter has his own fiefdom/network obligations to fill.

C'mon brehs it's a Pac fight. Worse comes to worse we'll see him get TKO trying to run Mayweather down. He's not just gonna stop and resort to a slow pace even if he's getting jabbed to death.

It doesn't matter if they're past their prime brehs, certain fighters always put on a decent show. I'd watch a 40 year old Barrera vs. Morales fight especially if it had a decent undercard.
