Name some nice traditional RPGs for ps2.

I dont wanna play DQ8 lolz correction its late LOLZ, but I picked up Wild Arms 3 cause it was pretty challenging, but aside from that all I could find was DQ8 and FFX which is only 'traditionl' cause it rides the FF wave.

Id look into FF12 but everything is too new :(

Grandia 3 is good despite the WTF jailbait mom and the blonde ANGEL OF MANA. Um, what else. Suikoden 5 was really good despite a slow start, and has folks from Skies of Arcadia contributing to it.

It's Suikoden 5 that was mediocre.

Bad gameplay, unsupportable corny story and characters, terribly outdated RPG mechanics... it's just a never ending piece of sappy cliched RPG jappa crap.

Whereas Xenosaga has an absolutely fascinating story with out of this world characters, a very solid fighting system with mechs improved from Xenogears, riveting cutscenes that are still some of the finely crafted ones out of any videogame ever made, a nice sci-fi world with very well-made environments, a spooky ambiance... it's just so finely built, definitely worth playing, rarely do games ever compel me to complete them in their entirety so fast. It's one of the best space opera shows ever done. :)

Fascinating story if your literary diet suddenly made an adolescent move from Harry Potter to the seventh-grade shenanigans of Nietsche and Gnostic fairy tales. The battle system is slow-paced shallow crap, with the Boost system exploited in what -- two? -- fights throughout the game. The cutscenes are poorly-directed anime polygon puppet crap, the VA work flays the ears, and the characters were LITERALLY designed for the 4chan set to stroke their underdeveloped doodled to. CRAPPY JAPPY TOTAL.

If you play RPGs for the stories, you have no place DISCUSSING story and the quality thereof.

I've been playing this:

Its not OMG awesome, but I like it thus far. Storys kind of predictable, but the battle system is pretty well done.

Not sure if this qualifys as traditional. I always play chrono trigger/earthbound for nostalgia purposes.
