I'm convinced this show is one of the GOATs. Might be a little heavy handed, might even be a little Mary Suish but I don't care. Super rewatchable, classic characters, just the right distribution of guest stars. The character development is hit or miss but hey, it's a sitcom.

Did the last couple 1.5 seasons of Arrested Development really turn people that much off on the show?

only gets my spot because it has the goat grandma/grandpa duo to ever be on television. Consistently accurate/hilarious. And I don't even have old italian grandparents
Okay I actually agree with that. Ray and his brother are straight bitches though.

I don't think a mf'er that stanned for Maroon 5 (at one time) has room to make pop music critiques.

I would have you know that Maroon 5's first (major label) album is widely regarded as a classic sir.

I happen to own that album, but nah. It's a Coldplay album with a little more energy. 7/10 . better than Pink though.
Only a 7? Surely the funky instrumentals, smooth vocals, and countless memorable songs make it a 9/10 at least.

Really liked 30 rock but it's probably not in my top 5 or top 10. But at its best it was quite good. I think I love the smaller jokes that only knowledge nerds or pop culture
nerds would love.

Also just to throw some heat, Friends wouldn't be in my top 100. Most over-rated sitcom of all time. Yeah I said it.

Fraiser, that 70s show and I guess peep show are the only ones I have any real positive connections to. 30 Rock would be up there but some of it's best seasons are tied to some dark times for me. So I remember really weird or sad shit whenever I catch an episode on or something.

1. Seinfeld
2. Good Simpsons (Seasons 3-6)
3. Curb Your Enthusiasm
4. The Larry Sanders Show
5. Futurama before the first cancellation (Cheers could easily fill this slot as well)

I couldn't get into 30 Rock starting from the third season.  It reminds me of the post cancellation Futurama: it isn't bad but I never laughed once.

Also WTF at That 70s Show in this thread.  That show was garbage :heh

It's nowhere near Newsradio level

maybe season 5 Jon Lovitz/Patrick Warburton Newsradio but not the god tier that was seasons 1-4

Also behind Arrested Development, Futurama, Seinfeld, Cheers, Friends,

real talk: Will & Grace was never funny

Newsradio reminded me of Night Court. Amazing cast, but unmemorable episodes.

Also, Will and Grace was one of those shows that had completely dull leads but was saved by the supporting cast.

Arrested Development is better than all the shit in this thread.  30 Rock has some good stuff, but some real fucking garbage.  Friends is fucking embarrassing and you should be embarrassed if you like it.  In fact most sitcoms are pure unadulterated garbage.

4- Fawlty Towers

Yessssss

It would probably still be funny without John Cleese, but his physicality and the way he does over-the-top anger easily put it up into "all-time classic" territory.

I don't think the time order was the problem with the season. It was simply the logistical nightmare of the cast not being able to film scenes together.

It's harder to think of shows than it is to put them in tiers. I cheated and used the first page of the imdb list. I can't believe how big of lull there was in anything else that even stuck around while Seinfeld, Friends and Frasier were on. There's like every classic sitcom you can think of in the thirty years prior, then it all basically stops except for a handful while those three are on for a decade, and then it starts up again where each year seems to add another good show or two.

I never gave Curb Your Enthusiasm the fair shake. I just don't think neuroticism is my lane. It's why I could never get into Always Sunny :'(

The show is very repetitive in terms of structure, but it works 90% of the time - at least up to S4 (I haven't seen the rest of the seasons). The recurring gags and snowball effect of fuckery in each episode just cracks me up.

It’s currently my favorite sitcom. I also like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld, am so-so on Friends, and warmed to Big Bang Theory during a cultural deprivation streak during a family crisis in Turkey last year.

Seasons 5 and 6 are perfect. Season 7 is a bridge too far.

I honestly dislike Always Sunny a lot now. I enjoyed it a lot when it first began, but I can live without ever watching an episode ever again. The schtick wore thin a long time ago with me.
The show dipped strongly but the High School Reunion saved everything and I prefer the last few seasons to the first few.
