As a teenage girl, I could never figure out what was more obnoxious: Guitardudes blantantly trying to get into the pants of any of the girls too polite to walk away from his beautiful jamfest, or that girls actually fell for this shit.

Another guitardude winner: The guy you just started dating or who is trying to date you, and he writes you a song and plays it for you. I immediately assumed they "wrote" that song for every girl they'd spoken to. But you're forced to smile and nod and wonder how much longer the song could possibly go on. And when is the appropriate time to cut them loose, and deal with the inevitable "But I'm a Nice Guy" talk.

I married a guitar player, and my god he never did this shit.

At least you figured it out young and changed your ways. I know guys like this in their 30s.

In high school, I.... may or may not have loosed up all the strings on Guitardudes' guitars when they took a break. No damage, but loosened enough where it would've taken too long to get it back in key that they were forced to stop for the party. It was for their own good.

To be fair, pretty sure most party guitar players can't actually tune a guitar so you probably stopped them playing for a week or so until they got their pal to tune it for them.

Oh god you're probably right! I didn't think about that. We don't even own a tuner because my husband does it by ear. But these guys don't actually care about playing, only about attention whoring or actual whoring. I still don't feel bad though.

My neighbor will come over when my husband is tuning and practicing by himself. Never fails, he starts making requests and then singing!! Eventually he'll get my husband to pass over the guitar. I act like I'm going to the bathroom and will be back, but I go watch Netflix in bed, leaving my husband to fend for himself. Someone should've loosened up his strings in high school.

wtf, one of the first things I learned how to do when learning guitar was tune by ear

can't believe people who claim to be good guitarists don't know how to tune a guitar

a lot of people who tune by ear are further off than they think. if you tune it to itself, chances are that low E is slipping so subtly that you don't notice until it's really obvious.

1) If the party is big enough you don't need to be invited. Just wear your normal person mask and blend in.
