Actually, Doctor Who is the oldest of them all, what with the whole TARDIS thing and all.
I want to watch old school doctor who, explain to me why they don't release them in season sets but across random single disk nonsense that aren't even in order.
Well, for one they are BBC DVDs, so there's going to be some butt raping involved. Second, a lot of the episodes from the first 3 Doctors are "lost" or destroyed. There is a like, early years box set of 3 DVDs. I thinkt here is like barely any material still around from the second Doctor.
Plus in the old seasons, there were like 40some episodes per season, and at BBC prices, box sets that big would be expensive.
Also, the quality was rather hit and miss, to be honest, at least up until the Fourth Doctor. Tom Baker's run is pretty consistent. The Doctors after were also, hit and miss, in some cases, very miss.
