Yeah, I want Japan to move to the PS4 already primarily for this so I can play my jrpgs on the tv or in bed without paying a cent more!  (no more of this PS3 + Vita cross save $160 combo versions).


Might get Disgaea 5 just for remote play.

I can never get it to hold a stable connection. If I'm in the same room it's pretty solid, but if I walk more than 15 feet away it just collapses. I don't really need to use it, so it's no big thing, but sometimes I wish it would hold a better connection so I could play in bed without having to move the ps4.

Over internet works pretty well- I was shocked. I can put my ps4 to rest from the vita and wake it up. I did notice when waking it up the first time I try to create the remote connection it fails, the second succeeds.

I never figured out why remote play works better when it's over the internet than a direct connection, even in the same room as the ps4.  but it works well enough that I've used it time to time in other rooms/outside.  and the next PS4 update ups streaming frame rate from 30 to 60fps, I might get more use out of it.

and I think you can stream to android devices.  I want to try that sometime.

How do you tell it to go over internet?  I've only used it during direct connection and it's great but gets garbled for 5 seconds every few mins.  Which is I mostly prefer it to collectible hunting/turn-based.

You need to go to the power savings optionsin your vita and turn off some setting to make it wotk better

There's a remote play setting on PS4.  I believe you just uncheck the direct connect to PS4 option.  Then the Vita also has a setting, that you can access from the remote play app, which lets you select an option to improve the quality if your connection can handle it.

Remote play worked pretty well for me in the place I was at when the PS4 came out, but at the last place I lived in, I never got it working well.  Awful connection quality.  At my new place the Internet connection speed is almost four times as fast, so I'm hoping it will make stuff playable again.

You talking about wired?  Yeah.  May not be at my new place, though.  At least not right away.  Couldn't get the router in the same room all my shit's gonna be in.   :'(  I want see how difficult it would be to run the cable for it into that room.  Would have to be done along the ceiling.

Was reading up on that, but it seems that it's still slower than a strong wireless connection that's close by.  The router would be pretty close to that room.

Thanks!  Yeah it's way more stable going through the internet.  Maybe less sharp and more like watching a youtube vid with my connection, but its consistent and doesn't glitch out or speed up/slow down suddenly.  Been playing DQ Heroes PS4 on it and it plays great.  Will probably start using remote play more.

I love remote play for games like Valiant Heart.
