Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is so good, despite the combat being dog awful. Wish we could get an updated/remastered version some day, but we'll likely just have to settle with fan patches.

Actually playing with the haunted fire ax you get from the hotel is pretty amazing

Way back, before patches and fan patches, a katana you could get in Santa Monica would trivialize things until late game.

Now, patches upon patches later, there's actual progression. Last time I played, I used a bush hook for the longest time.

Getting the itch to play again... Ranged weapons Toreador? Sounds terrible, but I've done everything else already. :V

The Director's Cut fixed them, so you can actually keep playing the way you did during the rest of the game.

No shit! I had no idea, makes me way more inclined to play through it again. I think Steam gave me a free copy of the DC anyway, so maybe I'll fire it up and play something that isn't Overwatch or Isaac for once

I'm excited for the game, but don't really like the "mechanical apartheid" angle.

Aug discrimination was already hard to believe in HR, now that they lean into it more it's just become cringe worthy.

I could buy the hostility towards 1-percenters and corporate funded transhumanism, but the "apartheid" thing aimed at cyborgs doesn't make a lot of sense, yeah.
