Quitting console gaming after Marriage
« on: August 12, 2006, 09:42:15 AM »
 :-\

I was thinking I should quit gaming after marriage, well console gaming... I would keep my portables

My girlfriend said something strange this morning, she would like to get a large screen tv so she could play racing games with me  ???
Maybe I should get an Xbox360, some racing games and two racing wheels >:(

I never know how serious this woman is  :'(
She's only doing this HDTV and I wanna race you thing for me...  :ninja

So evilbore please list some good old fun two player racing games for a woman who drives fast IRL

She only played Mario Kart on the DS and she won a few races, she looked so cute and serious at the time  :-[

Mario Kart would be a good choice.

My friend's wife LOVES Burnout (and is really good at it).

I'm thinking you should go with more pick-up-and-play type games, rather than stuff like Gran Turismo.  So maybe Outrun or Wave Race would be good.

hmmm I forgot about Burnout... I never played it myself, all that crashing stuff would be good, is it a good multiplayer?

Two player (or three or four) Burnout is lots of fun.  It's almost like two games in one:  Racing and Crashing.  Racing you can play at the same time, and the crashing you take turns and try to top each other's score.  It's definitely a good game to play with friends.

Good god man...  Are you insane?  Don't encourage her!  It just increases the odds of one or both of you dying in a horrible wreck!

Quit gaming after marriage? Yes marriage involves sacrifices but it should be giving up your favorite hobby period. Less game time and more time with the wife? Of course. But out right ending a hobby for marriage is silly. Would you tell your gf if you got married she had to stop doing whatever her favorite pass time is forever or you won't marry her? Of course you wouldn't.

Once I get married, I'm definitely quitting gaming for sure.  It's a waste of time.  It was fun when I was a kid, and for short bursts when I'm extremely bored.  Other than those rare moments, I haven't touched a console game in months.

Does your wife complain about your gaming? Like if you were to buy a shit ton of stuff this holiday season, would she start whining?

Don't buy a console until you see games that you like for it.  You should have something for your free time especially if it's something as fun as videogames but console games are much more about getting high scores.  I recommend getting Oblivion and taking turns playing it with her.  Such a fun game.
