What did lindelof do behind the scenes? Or is this just conjecture now that we know the emperor had no clothes?

To be honest, I don’t know that Abrams is any better. The fact that he started a Star Wars trilogy, without  even a broad overview of what would happen in each of the three movies is nuts to me. If I had to guess, the reason there are no details on what the First Order is, or who snoke is, or what happened between rotj and TFA is, like Lost, because the creators never bothered to think any of it up.

I loved lost when it was on. In a sense it was my favorite show ever, but man did they fuck up the payoff. I Think about the fact that this show had like 24 hour long episodes s per season, and they still couldn’t find time to explain anything.

Lindelof did The Leftovers, which apparently is pretty good in the second two seasons. Carlton Cuse, on the other hand, is bringing us the Rampage movie adaptation next month

The videos have a plethora of Lindelof interview bits in which he clearly bullshits through questions or contradicts himself constantly, if not straight up lying.

You have to watch the videos to get the context. He basically lies all over place and constantly changes his story after the fact. That is far different than in comparison to abrams whom some people may or may not like but I don't see people saying he flat out lied about Star Wars. Darlton lied constantly about Lost.

I just watched the first clip. The Walt bits are pretty bad. These videos are triggering me, but that dude did his lost homework for sure.

I love the videos not because I always agree with him everytime (although I do like 80% to 90% of the time) but because they come from a real perspective of a fan who watched the show. It's not just pointless ranting from somebody who is hating just to hate which I can easily ignore.

Especially in the later videos he also focuses on the character and emotion side and why that fails down the stretch in lost and he just nails it. And that was always the key thing to me about lost. I'm not the type of viewer who is plot driven in the mystery sense. I understand the show made a big deal out of mysteries but I never cared about that on any deep level. I never cared about the numbers or the smoke monster or why there was a three toed statue, etc. So when the show failed on those fronts, I can intellectually understand why that isn't cool but if I'm being honest, it never overly bothered me.

I'm not saying its wrong that it bothered other people, but it just wasn't how I connected to the show. I connected to the characters and how they related to the plot. So those are the parts that pissed me off. How they treated Walt and Michael so bad by the end of the show pisses me off. The whole final season is pretty much a disaster when it comes to nearly every character. And he really digs into that. I just found myself thinking Preach! everytime he nailed what I had thought in my head but never verbalized.

The original script for Prometheus (before Lindelof got his greasy hands on it) was leaked at some point; it made like a million times more sense. It also wasn't laced with herpy derpy religious mumbles - just like Lost what turned into in the end.

And yeah, as others have pointed out, the guy is completely full of shit. To a point where he even has no issues throwing other people under the bus (with complete lies, btw) to cover up his fuckups.

Damn, not sure if the final video's really worth 3 hours, but holy fuck is he tearing the final moments apart.  :lol  Reminds me of watching Plinkett Phantom Menace for the first time. We all know this was bad, but then some hardcore nerds give you an entirely new perspective into the badness. I also never rewatched Lost, so I totally didn't notice how I fell for some of these Chucke Cheese distractions retrospectively.

I stopped around the halfway mark. He does repeat a lot of stuff and doesn't really make a whole lot of new points he hasn't made before at that point.

Cuse did Bates Motel, which is almost great, although there are some rough patches in the first two seasons.

And Rampage is going to be the next Jumanji.
