If we assume that the depicted individual is in fact a member of the first world labor aristocracy (instead of a member of the bourgeoisie or in all more likelihood, a member of the petite bourgeoisie), we might be inclined to think that the answer to the question is in fact a resounding yes. It's 2015, appropriating surplus value from those who must sell their labor power is appropriating surplus value from those who must sell their labor power, #solidarityisforwhitewomen, et cetera.

HOWEVER, this thinking would be rash and, dare I say, revisionist. "Great, here comes the Maoism Thirld Worldism," you're probably thinking. Comrade, you better check yourself before you wrecker yourself. For all we know, the depicted individual could in fact have an IRA or 401(k). What do those do? Own capital. What is the fundamental quality of the proletariat? Lacking control of capital.

Thank you for attending Class Enemies 101. Next week we will be covering Hegelian dialectics.
