The only things that bothers me with XCOM2 is how much the whole cinematic moments and cut-ins are present, but that first mission looks like a tutorial... Generally the game is not at his finest in the CG either, less would be more there. The only good thing the remake brought there was the eerie bald dude.
Otherwise I like what I see. Enemies redesign, mechs still in, manual evac zone, carrying people. I like the futurist setting, a tad XCOM meets Syndicate, but it's maybe a bit bland. I suspect that may be because they brought back all procedural maps. The whole procedural thing is really what I am looking forward into, getting it right would mean that the game could have infinite replayability... If the strategy layer is fixed.
EDIT : The whole enemy pod activation seems to have been tinkered on as well, but it is hard to say with the demo.
I didn't stay in for the pep talk, did they mention anything about the Geoscape parts ?
XCUM : The real megaton which doesn't just rely on nostalgia.
