The big change is that they're putting people that can actually finish the games they direct in leadership roles. Yoshi-P in XIV, Tabata in XV and now Tai Yasue on KH3 are all people that get shit done, produce results and ship the games they work on at reasonable dates without blowing up the budget excessively.
Nomura's perfectionism is nice sometimes, but not when we end up waiting on shit for more than a decade.
