definitely in the top three at the show for me, only reason not #1, is because i saw it last year at the show

im a huge 1930, 40s animation fan, so this is great

This continues to look great. I thought that there would be platforming/side scrolling parts of the game. Just being "boss" battles is a little worrisome to me

The game looks great, but I'm generally apprehensive about these sort of indie #takes on old-school genres. Volgarr the Viking came out of nowhere (for me) and overwhelmed my expectations, so maybe Cuphead will too. If it's mainly comprised of boss battles, I hope they manage something that's worth comparing to Alien Soldier.

Visually game looks amazing but the E3 demo was awful. Some sort of boring boss rush mode and a confusing world map that made no sense. Boss fights were basically fights against bullet sponges with a couple of rote patterns. Really disappointed in it.

yeah, i keep thinking "man, the graphics look terrific," and then whenever i see any gameplay i think "man, this game is 100% not for me"

hoping for a cruise control mode so i can pretty much just watch it interactively

That's the tricky gameplay balance in games like this. You want the user to see all the art, but you don't want to make the game piss-easy like Kirby's Epic Yarn.

well i was listening to that nintendo conference about yoshi's yarn, and they said basically, they want anyone to be able to beat it, that's why Epic Yarn had no death.  The challenge comes from getting-all-teh-things

some levels in Epic Yarn i remember being like, fuck trying to get xyz in this level, it'd be way too hard!

Well, that sucks... saw some of the videos and the fact that this looked like a oldskool hardcore run-n-gun hyped me more than the graphic style.

Yup it was pretty basic boss patterns. Animation is top notch and it even has those old 30s cartoon sound effects. Hard to hear much even with headphones on, though.

Probably why this has been pushed back MS are apparently helping with certain elements. I think a bit more time in the oven will hopefully do it some good.

I remember feeling the same thing about the Mickey Mania game, dat style. Was good lookin, and I actually really liked the game at the time. Not sure how i feel about the western indie run n gun. Will play because it's pretty :p

Interview on the animation process and such. To have the proper retro look the animation is 24 fps but the game itself is running at 60. :ohhh
