http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/06/17/nintendo-explains-why-you-can-39-t-upload-mario-maker-creation-videos-directly-to-youtube.aspx

They want $60 for this, btw

Here this toolset, go wild & have fun ! Don't show it to anyone though.

And yeah fan-created content never really live up to the possibilities. Creating content with a joypad is one of the most frustrating experiences possible. Plus it turns out we are all shitty level designers anyway. In LBP it was virtually impossible to find any of the good user created levels that (probably) existed.

Only level creator I had fun with on console was the Tenchu one on PSX.

I actually watched the Nintendo World Championships [insert L here] where they were racing through crazy Mario Maker levels. This is dumb.

It's kind of amazing how they can continue to be as stupid and shortsighted as they are about this sort of thing.

But y'all fans don't worry, NXT will fix everything  :aweshum

If only the Wii U had some kind of gimmicky tablet controller that seems tailor-made for this purpose...

Oh yeah I forgot about that  :P
"Tailor-made" is probably an exageration though.

Oh god I dumped so many hours into this shit.

Yeah, I get that I'm in the minority on this one. I just really like dinking around in level editors and seeing what other people have made. The only reason I didn't get into LBP is the fact that the core game was garbage.

The last level editor I used was Command and Conquer: Red Alert. The first one. For modem to modem games with my friends.

My heart says Doom, but if they can actually pull it off and channel whatever they learned from Far Cry into GR, then Ghost Recon will probably be so amazing that it will be amazing.

Level design tools are fun, but I have no interest in playing through other consumers' idea of what a good level is. Nintendo, for better or worse, is VERY GOOD at making content which helps me feel competent.  Other consumers' levels are usually impossi-bad deathtraps, or have hidden wangs in them.

It's a good thing Mario Maker is coming with 100 Nintendo-made courses then.

???

Levels in Mario games have always been called "courses." Why do you think the end of level markers in Mario World were finish line tapes?

SMB3 has "stages" but they're levels.

"I'm here to interview for the course designer position"
"I don't see that listed here...there's an interview for 'lever designer' at 3pm"
"That...that...must be it"
"It looks like that position will be filled by someone other than you"
"Oh..."

I really dislike these Kaizo-esque level design people tend to make. They're the worst and not any fun. With that said, I've seen people making some pretty cool levels in hacks before, although that is a rare sight.

I plan to attempt at making pretty decent challenging levels myself and I wouldn't mind sharing them here!

I'm not against other people making things, and sharing them. It's just not something I am willing to subject myself to.

As a member of TheBore.com, it would be hypocritical for me to object to nerds putting tools in their own hands.
