I actually like this theory. In my work I have to deal with tons of people with tons of different races and backgrounds. I know many of the more socially conservative people I know tend to be in fairly homogenous regions and have little interactions with anyone that's unlike that.

Of course I would also point that for me working with all these people of different races has just made me more racist. I hate everyone now.
