If true, makes me hope for an awkward Terry Gross interview where she asks why they went with a mostly white cast.

To be honest, being LGBT alone in the late 60s was probably worse than being black or feminist/pacifist. Still obviously white washing.

Marsha was definitely a queen, although a large transgender activist all the same, so a lot of people get confused.

It should be said, that during a time when hormones weren't really common or much of a thing, that the lines between drag and trans likely blurred heavily.

Forgot to add, that that's a reason a lot of old drag queens used the word cheeseburger to each other, because that's what they were labeled at one point in time. So the inclusion of drag queens doesn't mean much, but the PR on the movie's description notably has transgender individuals absent, which is pretty glaring. Either way, Stonewall was definitely spearheaded by drag and trans individuals, so the film focusing on gay men is pretty, well....damning.
