I know Chris Columbus was the writer on Gremlins and The Goonies, but Gremlins is a Joe Dante movie and The Goonies is a Steven Speilberg movie.

To be fair, if you can get John Williams to score your movie, you're pretty much always going to go with John Williams.

Yes but he still picked John Williams! It shows he's not completely incompetent!

Fuck, I always thought Home Alone 1/2 were John Hughes films.

That scream still gets me, but yeah my love for Home Alone is probably blind nostalgia.

Edit: Forgot about the GOAT.

Chamber of Secrets is great if you don't know anything about Harry Potter, come into it about half an hour in and it's just some kind of mystery film.

I was legitimately surprised to find out that he directed the latest Adam Sandler disaster, I even felt kind of bad for him. But then I remembered the rest of his resume and thought, "Yeah, that's about right."

For reals, haven't seen it in at least a decade, but I liked Only the Lonely, his remake of Marty starring John Candy. Man, I miss that guy.

He directed "Adventures In Babysitting".  I remember that being a fun movie.  Although I also haven't seen that in over 20 years.

I rewatched it about 5 years ago. It's bad, but anything with Elisabeth Shue is watchable.

Richard Donner directed The Goonies.

He did, but it was a situation like Poltergeist where Speilberg was on-set everyday and even directed some individual scenes.
