A few years ago I would have said anything but Pilsner but after diving into the craft beer craze and trying anything I can get my hands on, I've learned that I truly enjoy Pilsners, Lagers, and Kölsch especially when made with European hops. Also I really beer served on nitro and a pilsner on nitro is a treat. That mouthfeel though.

In the winter I usually switch to Stouts and Porters for those toasted grains. Beers I can't stand anymore are IPAs because American craft brewers have gone crazy with the hops and tend to overhop all styles of beer, even sessions. I hope we reach peak hop soon as start dialing things back. It's like we went from making beers that taste like water to beer that tastes like straight Cascade in 15 years. Let that pendulum swing back a little.

Depends on my mood. Lately I've been enjoying a good porter. Prefer my beer to be dark and bold. But if my mood is "I want to drown my sorrows for under ten dollars" any hobo beer from the tallboy shelf will work.

I was under the impression that the alcohol in Mike's is malt liquor, which is technically a beer despite not having hops in it.

I think every beer has its place

IPA when you just want to sip and enjoy (dubbel, trippel and porter fall under this too)

Stout when it's dark and murky and you want to get all cozy sitting in a pub in Cork

Lager when you are just thirsty and it's so nice and refreshing

Witbier when you are sitting in the sun and drop a slice of lemon in that fucker

I am the kind of guy who was only interested in super hoppy IPAs or syrupy stouts, but Mr. Gundam's love of saison has shown me the light on that form. Right now I can get a nice Japanese saison at many convenience stores, and I like it better than witbier for summer drinking. Kirin, Asahi, and Suntory are all trying to make crafty beers, but they're all middle-of-the-road even compared to other Japanese large-scale craft breweries like Yo-Ho or Coedo.

Radlers here are a freaking joke.

I'm into Radlers and mixing beers and am not afraid to say it. I really got into it in Spain (una Clara) when it's summer and hot and you're trying to drink something so you get your free snack but not get drunk before you walk three miles up a hill to see a castle.
