Yes. And 2 is fine, it's the pinnacle of the ARPG genre, don't listen to Positive.

Pinnacle of the ARPG is a shitty RE clone?

At least Parasite Eve 1 actually feels like a good mixture of a rpg and an action game, but with really more emphasis on the rpg part. I don't think it's an amazing game, but it makes good use of "action" mechanics. Dodging and actual positioning makes the combat feel more involved. Yet it dosen't shed it's turn based jrpg roots and it has some cool leveling mechanics. It also doesn't feel like shit with it's controls.

Really good game.

Parasite Eve 2 is amazing.

You're goddamn right.

Real-time magic casting that other ARPGs haven't copied to this day?

Pinnacle of the ARPG genre, like I said. Gameplay systems still unmatched.

Is there anything inherently wrong with the PS1 version of Chrono Trigger (load load times, slowdown, etc)?

Seems like I remember it having long load times, but that might not be as much of problem playing it in digital format on PS3 or whatever.

PS1 CT had long loads for menu and long saves, but that's all I really remember.

It's the worst version of the game. Worse than the mobile ports even.

It does have Animu though.

Chrono Trigger PS1 was my first exposure to that game as a teen. I still dumped lots of hours into it and liked it a lot.

The worst version of CT is still p gud.  :yeshrug
