What's a word/phrase for "spergy" that's not "spergy"?

I don't think there's a good equivalent. Describing the behaviour in question is the only way out that I can think of, i.e. anal retentive tantrum or whatever.

In my head it's "robot", becasue that gets near the root issue, but it's essentially just as much of an insult, which is what I assume you want to avoid. You could do an adjective sidestep and again describe the behaviour as being robotic, emotional responses as wooden, etc.

As a spectrumed spirit ( ) it does kinda suck when it's used for someone just being dumb, obsessive, oblivious or whatever. Sometimes though, it's straight up accurate.

As it's little more than a generic insult now, there's usually an adjective that more accurately conveys what's actually meant by the insulting party. English has hundreds of thousands of words, use a useful one or make yourself useful and read a book instead of shitposting.

For example, the word special fellow is often applied to someone who is essentially talking to themselves in a discussion. Solipsistic is much more accurate a word to describe that behavior than special fellow.

Overinforming is an awkward compound noun, but it's better than special fellow when someone veers into discussing a subject at a level found tedious or disintetesting.

On a serious note, it's extremely difficult to curtail the use of ableist language once you get socialized to not see it (or care that you're using it) so I just try to worry about me instead of about what other people say.

A humbling moment on my path to correct thought was realizing that I couldn't post on a forum with a zero tolerance policy for that kind of stuff. I use words like lame or cretin without even thinking twice about it and I still do despite being somewhat uplifted. Considering how far I've come since adolescence I'd feel hopeful that I could completely kick it by old age but I'd rather die a young bigot than be an august octogenarian and so such wishful thinking is profoundly unsettling. #freekarakand

Really true and I'm grateful that most racial/sexual slurs weren't a part of my adolescence.  I know a few people who have to make a real conscious effort to avoid saying stuff that just wouldn't occur to me.

People who have AS do not have impeded language or thinking development. Whether that's mild or not is a distinction that I don't feel is worthwhile outside a clinical setting.

As I'm unfamiliar with the misdiagnosis rate I can only point out that applying its diagnostic criteria correctly requires accurate input from the patient and their parent(s) if they're a child.

By mild, I meant like it's not very easy to say what signs the individual could end up having, unlike say depression or dyslexia where it's pretty clear. Among people who were diagnosed with Aspergers as a child, I've noticed a lot of variance in lifestyle which I guess you could say comes from their morals/gumption or whatever.

When I say special fellow dad, I mean on the spectrum Asperger's. But I mean it to be derogatory as his special fellow ways contribute to his general assholeness; these traits are to be ridiculed instead of emphasized with.

If a special fellow were to realize the error of his/her ways and try to better oneself, or de-special fellow, than I would refrain from calling such individual a special fellow and accept his/her neurodiversity
