I don't get the appeal of always going to the next big thing. Reflecting on things helps you try to understand the media you consume, and I find that to be pretty important. Using media as something to just use to let the dull moments pass life by sounds pretty boring, but that's just me. I'm not saying you should be rewatching/re-read/replay everything, but the idea that you've experienced everything that something has to offer on only one go sounds completely (and I hate to say this) uncultuered in every sense of the word. I don't want this to turn into an art argument, but it essentially makes any and all media, no matter its ability to convey itself as art, as something to be consumed and tossed away.
It's a mindset I simply do not understand, and as a potential content creator, it makes even less sense.
Then again, I watched 2001 once a day for three days straight just to study its cinematography and use of visual storytelling.
Understanding the process - HOW things are made, and how they're made WELL - is equally as interesting as consuming them.
