They simply operate from different moral positions than you do and are willing to be utilitarian about their implementation in different ways. e.g. The libertarian will operate from the position that the state is generally not a good thing, but they're willing to compromise on that (almost completely in some cases) when it comes to policing and defense. That they aren't willing to compromise on redistribution or not using the state as a vehicle to implement their theocratic aims isn't evidence of inhumanity, more economically utilitarian social liberals have plenty of arbitrary moral positions that they won't compromise on either.

I've seen it said elsewhere that they are they are the least oppressed group of people on the planet yet they see any criticism or dissension as a violation of their rights. So it looks to be more than just a difference in morals. It's about entitlement.

Batman Begins is the first time I realized I was kind of done with superhero movies. That movie got so much praise especially in online circles and it just left me mostly cold. The other two batman movies especially the one with the Joker were better to me.

In general if I even get around to them, I tend to watch these movies years later when all the hype has died down.
