Knowing the history of 4chan boards and saying they were ever "civil"
Some of us were alive while you were sperm in your daddy's sack, yes.
And yes, /v/ in the early board introduction was farrrr more civil than it is now. It was like /vr/ is but with modern titles. No trollin', no hostility. It was pretty refreshing compared to /b/ and GameFAQs, et. al. of the time.
He seems like a cool guy considering he was in charge of a mixed bag of people of which some were massive assholes and had issues. And were probably way older.
And liked to shit on and threaten him somewhat regularly.
The reason he gets my respect versus 'lore or Lowtax is that moot at least "got" 4chan's culture, given he built the board to discuss anime in 2003/when he was in his teens. He was at least able to keep up on 4chan's "culture" and memes. Something that would drive Lowtax and Evilore insane: letting the community be a community.
