I was in SF last weekend. Downtown has a Starbucks every block. Sometimes multiples. There are corners with opposing Starbucks. And throw in the occasional Peet's for good measure. Not even Seattle is like that. What's odd about it is that there are just as many local places right there, too. And Blue Bottle, even. If you're in SF, try Bread and Cocoa. Really good coffee, pastries breakfast sandwiches. For real, I don't understand how everyone in SF isn't 500 pounds. There's every type of restaurant or cafe and they're all good.
