it would be cool if you could get replacement  👀 that would let you commit irrevocably to seeing the world as cubist painting or something though.

You know you just gave me an idea. If someone wants to do this the very least we could do is set up some sort of donation process to another individual. I bet that was pretty much wrecked by the usage of those chemicals though.

I'm saying that there's something to be "lost" (or rather, could be, it's not like you can't speak ASL if you have your sense of hearing), not that it's to blame for the phenomenon. Whether or not something is worth preserving often gets lost in the shuffle. Someone blinding themselves isn't losing an identity, they're blinding themselves.

I don't agree with that. Coming from someone that is an outlier within that sort of thing. But I've seen people that have gone deaf utterly refuse to attempt to learn ASL or find methods that'll help them with "hearing" and vice-versa. So saying ASL is a cause for that sort of "proud"ness (or lack there-of) doesn't ring true to me.

It's different when you're born with a handicap. You don't view it as a difficulty because you don't allow yourself to. No one ever tells you it's okay to feel overwhelmed and you work to the best of the abilities you have to function as a complete person.

But to lose some level of perception that you previously relied on would have a traumatic effect. Or at least it should since it's something you utilized your whole life. That's why I don't understand this intentional disabling thing. It's also likely the reason her family is upset since they don't see how it could be justified.

Gender and sexuality are (I'm assuming again) probably largely determined by just genetic or hormonal factors. That makes sense and I know that today a homosexual or trans person could live as full a life as myself if it wasn't for cultural biases from their community.

But to lose a whole sense that you already had means you have to start a new identity.

I was about to post this as an idea, but then realized a surgeon and all those involved would have to remove her eyes. Which is something the majority of health care people would never agree to.

I got the impression that his apartment was fairly small and if you look at his older pictures then his apartment looks like any other. He is probably just interested in interior design and has worked hard to make his place look amazing.

I think self harm is something that is totally different than being trans.  Wanting to be disabled is like, Munchhausen's isn't it?

But then again, what do I know.

Self-harm is wildly different.  It's outright disrespectful to equate the two.  People who apply for gender reassignment are evaluated multiple times.  Comparing that process to some "psychologist" pouring bleach into a sick woman's eyes... it kind of makes me angry.

That's the thing. Outside the setpiece moments I'm genuinely struggling to remember shit all about the game.
Don't see how people got so hyped up on it. It's fun, but not so crazy that it needs that embarrassing defense force.

Thread started off with 4 pages of rational talk, "it's not going to change much" being the consensus.  No rants or meltdowns.  Except for one person who was probably joking around.  Mods come in, change thread title to "gaffers tearing skin off" and rile shit up to get the thread more traffic, I guess.

The building collapse is still a highlight for me. Uncharted 3 didn't have a moment like that where things were moving around and you had 2-3 dudes to shoot while everything was sliding/cover was flipping. Uncharted 3 should've had an Earthquake or something like that with the camera not being shakey/steadycam(?)'d. But it didn't.

I believe Uncharted is a lot more linear than past Tomb Raiders (though the rebooted, Unchart-ified Tomb Raider is probably just as linear.)

Much of the women are less educated, but are very attractive. In their 20s they want hot bodies, and by the time they're well broken in their mid to late 30s they want a sugar daddy. Most consider Vegas a highlight to their world travel experiences, and love to show how often they go to Hawksworth, Black and Blue or Blue Water. But oh wait, they never pay. Ever.

When I was dating last year it was a real turn off to be complimented by dates for having a job, car, and place. (Though that last one might have been retracted if they saw the Commune.) Like that's the standard that has these guys shook. Job, car, place.

Most people on online dating sites aren't that picky at all. If you just want to hook up with people it's awesome if you mostly act like an adult.

However, I did once make a fake profile of a woman just for fun and to see what kinds of messages other guys send (I'm not proud of this). They were all the same "hi" or "hey there" or totally insane ramblings about how it was unfair to not want a partner that is unemployed or who doesn't read a lot of books. I just put in the types of things that most women put in their profiles.

Also a lot of messages from guys with yellow fever. This was just a normal looking Asian woman but within a month the profile had a thousand "likes" on okcupid.

Personally I print out my handcrafted job resume before going on dates. Gotta show people exactly what I can bring to the table. Other things I bring with me on a first date? My complete genotype (my genes are shit, thankfully women are just typically too vapid and stupid to understand genetics), my annual salary, and my complete medical history.

I've noticed this on both Tinder and OKC in LA.  There seems to be a division at around 30 years old.  Women over 30 often state they're looking for a career-minded partner.  If they have kids they're clear about wanting someone who is comfortable with that.  Under 30 the requirements are "Please have a job.  Please don't live with your parents.  Please have a car."  I kind of feel bad for the younger group because they sound straight up desperate to find guys who aren't complete manbabies.  I wonder if the scene is really that bad.

I think a profile that's about you is okay to be "me me me" since that's pretty much the point.

I think whatever he's talking about is once again way over thinking the process.

Right now though I'm just reading Tabris's advice and laughing because it's the exact other side of the spectrum of "keep your nerd shit out she needs to know the real you" with its superficiality and shit.

Roomates are fine, most people are just not looking for a person who's stuck at home.
I don't know if I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment though.

I have no doubt it helps for sure but for the longest time my friend lived in his dad's awful, dirty ass pad and still pulled in ass on the regular. I mean whatever it just boils down to you not being some sketchy shut in with no hobbies or friends. It's no assurance though, which is what I'm sure people are salty over. No one's obligated to want to date you in the end.

I'll never understand how people get so hung up on being rejected while dating. Like maybe it was just cause I never got to fuck with online dating apps but rejection should just be water off your back. It happens move on.

Having your own place just makes it easier. (Looking back on it) I know for a fact I had relationships with a couple girls strictly because they were miserable at home (or with a roommate) and wanted somewhere else to run to.  It wasn't because I had an awesome place, it was just +not+ the place they were sick of.

I'll never understand how people get so hung up on being rejected while dating. Like maybe it was just cause I never got to fuck with online dating apps but rejection should just be water off your back. It happens move on.

I have to imagine that some of these guys are at the point of having such low self-confidence that they think each date is like their one and only chance at finding someone. So a rejection is like a huge fucking deal, because now it will take them at least like another 4-8 months to find another woman willing to date them. And then why were they rejected? Too fat? Ugly? Boring?

Best thing I ever did for my house and sanity is to move my PC and nerd shit into a room of its own, out of the bedroom.

XB1 and PS4 are still in the living room but that's pretty normal now anyway

How do I explain the Wii U?  :gloomy

do women really care about whether dudes have cars? I don't drive, and while in theory learning to drive/getting a car is on my backlog it's low enough on the priority list that realistically it will probably never happen. cars have just never been all that interesting to me. :yeshrug

I don't understand who'd want to live in a modern corporate themed condo, but whatever.  I like French contemporary because it's modern but actually comfortable, livable and embraces color.

In most of the USA a car is a necessity.  If you don't have one it means you're likely unemployed and broke, etc.  You can't reliably get around without one.  Even in most American cities it's still a thing - LA, notoriously.  I'm pretty close to getting rid of my car, but it took some sacrifices and some luck to live where I can walk to work, the supermarket, etc.  And if I ever change jobs or move then I'll have to go back to driving.

Thinking hair is gross is giving me pedo vibes.

My GF loves my chest hair and gingery beard, but I guess if she was into prepubescent physical traits she'd find it off-putting.

Dudes mainly need to trim their pubes and pluck any unibrows and they're generally good to go.

Not having societal pressure to rid ourselves of most of our body hair is one of the perks of being a man.

I really hope the whole "lets shave like women do" trend doesn't pick up steam among men. Hair is masculine to me. I'm attracted to men. If I wanted a chick with a penis I'd go to Thailand.
