What a shit fucking title. "They found that those following the 30-minutes-a-day guidelines issued by the American Heart Association had “modest reductions” in heart failure risk compared to those who did not work out at all." "But even more exercise had better reduction in risk" ====== "OMG 30 MINUTES IS NOT ENOUGH!!!!!"

Just do whatever you can, life's short, but it's best to do active shit to balance out a real sedentary type job.

Which is the problem with the title, and the mindset of certain members of the fitness community. "30 minutes isn't enough" just means for a lot of people "ok then I shouldn't even bother."

30 minutes itself has a significant risk reduction, especially compared to doing nothing. But the title and the OP seem to just ignore that for clicks.

People who marry that young are the most likely to divorce. Upwards of something insane like 60% too.

Got a legit question about pedophilia, is it abstract of the child's sex? It seems to me that man on boy pedophilia is more common than man on girl pedophilia, or does it generally not matter to the pedo?

I was listening to Billie Jean and this shit popped into my head, fuck you michael jackson for the line 'dont go around breaking young girl's hearts' :'(

I almost beat the "this is actually horrible news, life is worse now than ever" people, Kabouter slid right in there.

I always forget the greatness that is Jason Godesky's Thirty Thesis. I blame the agricultural city-state. Officer, am I free to gambol?

So when you say globalization you mean the present formation of globalization and not, say, the Age of Discovery or New Imperialism I take it, Kabouter. It's fun to wall off things like that, especially when they're all interrelated but inconsistently distasteful eras. "Marxism-Leninism (by which I mean Deng Xiaoping Theory) has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty."

Aye, smells a bit fukuyamist to me.

I mean dating is hard but I'm not jealous of people who married young.

I could picture gaffers inviting a girl over to watch Netflix and for whatever reason, she says yes.  Gaffers get into a flop sweat panic, wondering when to make the move.  Most of them will probably try to make some kind of move before they even start up Netflix, causing the girl to leave.  Then the remaining gaffers will be on the opposite end of the spectrum, where they get nervous wondering when and how to make a move throughout the whole movie until the movie ends.  Then after an awkward exchange of glances, the girl says she has an early day tomorrow so she has to get going.

I expect a number of "Netflix and chill doesn't work! :maf" in the coming weeks/months.

I was essentially told it has ruined their intimate relationships with other people in some way or another. It will manifest itself in several different ways, some times pulling away from people, being very skeptical about the other person's motives or being entirely too clingy.

That's what I would think would happen but I'm still surprised they didn't brag. Or it could make them think there's nothing to brag about when it comes to sex.

Majority of America is suburban car sprawl. Walkability is a foreign concept to most.

It's really nice to you and I, sure. I love parking my car on Friday and not having to use it at all. Famers market, restaurants, stores, bars, the park, etc. When I get to work (in the suburbs) on Monday and tell people how I walked all over on the weekends to different places their initial response is always "you walked a mile for dinner?"

Walking a mile in the burbs has an extremely different feel to it than walking a mile in Seattle. Gotta give them that.

I've done both, burbs and walking around. Burbs is just depressing. There's no real sense of random outings and just going somewhere for the fuck of it since you always have to get in a car and make somewhere a destination. Where I was I could just walk to a street with tons of bars and restaurants. One place is packed, just keep walking, once done walk home or go chill at a bar, then walk home. None of this "where is the car, who's driving if we go to the bar" crap.

The other thing about the burbs is how terrible the sidewalks are.  They often just... end.  For no reason.  Crosswalks don't exist or are ignored by drivers.  Nothing like being in the middle of crossing the street only to have an inattentive driver nearly hit you and then actually have the balls to yell at you as if it was your fault.
