Growing up it was a fucking hippie town. Fuck I remember going to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk as a reward for doing well in class around 11 and seeing naked protesters outside some building along the road.

Yeah the "night owl"  bus but it stopped at ~1AM. Sometimes you just want to work through the night though.

And yeah that Santa Cruz. There's a nude run through campus every year on the first day of rain in the Fall. I kinda regret not participating.

Bread, butter and cheese is eaten together all over Europe now as it has been hundreds of years.

Seriously though, most breakfasts look like some variation of this: cold cuts and spreads on bread or rolls, a cooked egg or two, cornflakes or müsli, orange juice or coffee. Northern Europe doesn't really cook for breakfast.

Bread and cold cuts are commonly eaten for dinner, too. Particularly if you're a lazy fuck like me, though I sometimes add tomatoes or bell peppers if I feel fancy.

Well, (and I already know I'm classified as a racist around here  ) him being black did help rally the black voting base to swell voter numbers in 2008/2012. I'm not going to say him being black was the great decider for most voters, but it certainly helped with a majority that was sick of Bush and "white men." I dunno how to term that to not sound like a hick. I'm sure PD (the residential voter data dude) could probably term that better.

If anything beyond that, it's the fact that people HATED Bush. It blows my mind that he got a second term after Iraq and it came out that there was no nukes there. That and Romney (and whatshisface) were both old out-of-touch white men with money.

This election cycle is going to be interesting to see if the Black Base still is there to vote for Hillary (or Sanders, but #LOLNOCHANCEOFTHAT) or if they'll allow Trump (ugh) to get the house.

The hispanic vote was helpful, but it wasn't a major (read: new voters signed up) push like Obama being black did for black voters. You had people that NEVER voted before signing up to vote. At least around here. Predominately black neighborhoods had Obama advertisement signs in their yards by the block.

I ate a ton of cold cuts, lox, cheese, and whole milk while in Europe and lost 11 pounds in two weeks.  I can't find anything of similar quality where I live: the lox comes in frozen that tastes funny, the cold cuts aren't as good, and the cheese definitely isn't as good.  It's kind of disappointing.
