Can't agree more. I don't go over there a lot anymore but it seems these 3 core competencies must be followed:

1) Billary is your lord and savior..although there seems to be a slide towards sanders.
2) All minorities are innocent, every time.
3) Police suck and never ever do anything good for anyone.

Oh and this one isn't strictly enforced but....

4) Women are to be held above all, always. If your sword fighting indie game does not have a female lead, then it sucks.

But until I stop seeing cops turn their flashers on to get through an intersection, turn the corner, turn another corner and then proceed to turn off their flashers now that they are on a "private"/sideroad at 5PM during rush hour traffic so they can get home earlier? For me its not specific rules per se that bother me about GAF handles this stuff. There are some aspects I like it GAF in that regard. I like that it is gay friendly or trans friendly. And other type of things like that. That you can't go on and just spout your dumb views on that stuff like on some forums. I like that there is an acceptance of what I would term liberal social views being the norm.

It's more about how I view forums and the idea that people are going to have different views on some things I find somewhat distasteful or pretty strongly disagree with. Maybe be a little bit more on the lenient side unless that person is being a completely rude shit-burger. Sometimes people are wrong about things. And they are going to stay wrong about those things. But sometimes people are legit just misinformed or have the capacity to change their views when presented with better information. If you just skip to the banning phase or the let's dogpile phase you never really have a conversation and you can't really ever reach those potentially reachable people. I know I've been "wrong" about lots of shit on neogaf in the past or on here and when presented with better information or another side, I have to admit I'm wrong and change.

Basically handle it like the bore and not like GAF. Although I understand its a lot more difficult on a board the size of GAF where you have a dedicated group of trolls, idiots, and attention seekers.

Right now there is a thread about a transgendered individual who took her life by walking into traffic and the argument has of course shifted to the need for suicide and putting someone else in danger by doing so. There isn't intelligent discussion surrounding this, it's people getting outraged that you couldn't possibly understand my opinion on this and you are so wrong that I must reply with such gems as:

"I can't."

There's no discourse and no method to promote it. If you aren't predisposed to the correct Thought At The Time then you are immediately ostracized because. It's Twitter/Tumblr lite. There's also of course the need to requote people because they said something super mean and it needs repeated ad nauseum along with the people who kick the door in to say RIP. RIP RIP RIPPITY RIP RIPPY RIP.
