Women not copping to playing console games, PC games, Weaboo games, all of that, is because once they do that online or socially, they get the thirsty legion trying to get a drip of pussy.
Its easy to see that now. But I was surprised when I did a experiment on Xbox Live in 2007/2008 or so. Changed my gamertag profile to be very girlish, a lot more messages and friend requests came in instantly. 
A lot of the "girl" gamers I know aren't really playing too many multiplayer games or they play with unisex names and don't talk. When I was playing on the reg most people assumed I was male until I opened my mouth.
Also if you're pretty proficient at FPS you just get a swarm of shitastic misogyny, as a result I just stopped talking altogether or even wearing a headset. Just streamed music over my console and played Halo that way.
What I'm seeing with a lot "girls own consoles no wai" is that unless women are posting a bunch on forums or making these dudes aware they play games, they're just nonexistent or something. You're on a gaming forum, that's an incredibly narrow window of socialization. Plenty of women don't even bother with the internet much period let alone a forum completely denying their existence or interest in a hobby over and over. Or when they recognize you exist there's this weird creepy obsession.
