There is a church on my street called 7th day Adventists or something. They are totally fucking strange.

I love that church, its adherents know for sure their founder was a fraud (Miller made the great mistake of the holy person, he made a falsifiable claim) but instead of accepting their bad life decision they looked at the blackjack dealer of life and said, "double down." It's like Star Citizen but for metaphysics.

Kinda like that jackass sci-fi writer who waxed poetically about thetans or whatever the fuck they were called.

it's funny how weird people get online about money. maybe it's because I spent my formative years on fashion forums where you'd have 15 year olds wearing my entire college tuition on their body*, but I just don't really care one way or the other. floss if you've got it.

As it should, honestly.  Between their attempt to ruin Shaun King (and the frantic deletion of evidence once they realized they fucked up) and GamerGate, BreitBart should not exist.

Imagine you are a mover and shaker in conservative media. Perhaps you are a host on radio, produce a show on Fox News, or write an influential column. You learn about the political demographics of a particular group, and they are attractive.

...

This isn’t really a thought experiment — the group exists, and they are called gamers. The statistics I’ve quoted come from a survey by the Entertainment Software Association, which we reported on Thursday.

The amazing thing is instead of making inroads into this vibrant community of young people, most of the conservative media has completely ignored it in the best cases and been openly antagonistic towards it in the worst. This approach doesn’t make sense to me.

But the good news is that there is still time for conservative media to change course and make inroads to gamers as fellow travellers in the free speech battle, if not for social conservatism.

The problem with accepting all of these people, and their culture, is there’s no place for me in it. You get to have your ISIS friends, or you get to have Milo, because when you invite us to the same party… off the roof I go.

Perhaps this is the Left’s plan all along. Banning me from campuses hasn’t dented my popularity, so perhaps murder is the only way the Left can get rid of me. I would take it as a compliment, but even I’m not egotistical enough to want western civilisation to be destroyed on my account.

STALKER is a difficult game to get into, even with the mods (without the mods it's basically a broken mess) and even when you do get into it and find the fun meat of the game it's still janky and gets in it's own way too often. I'd say you aren't really missing much.

Push through a few hours and if you still aren't feeling it then you just won't feel it. I got all the way through SOC and COP and, while COP was much better, it still wasn't good enough to justify the bad parts.

Just play Metro if you want a Russian Novel Via Video Games experience. Or play Fallout 4 if you want the oppressive atmosphere with a better gameplay experience.

Quote
I said in this thread that the best part of STALKER was the atmosphere it was able to generate and I haven't said that Fallout is BETTER in this only that it's a close match. STALKER is a mess of a game even with the extensive modding that was done to it to even make it playable by most people. It's fun, but not great. COP is really good, still not "great" in my opinion.

Dude is so full of shit. I torrented Stalker last year, applied a patch, and the game was perfectly playable. Marrec continues the stats quo of being a dog food in a can poster.

Genetics are just weird. The people who lived the longest in my fam were the big farm gals like my grandma and her mother/aunts. Talking late 80s/early 90s.

I played and beat STALKER sans any mods when it first came out.

Same. I don't remember any glaring bugs or issues tbh.

Then again he probably considers this "normal" since he doesn't leave his house

I actually expected bigger too.  Maybe it's the photo, because I'm not seeng a chest that causes men to go "durrr" like the article indicates.

Well I'm guessing it only has that effect on guys who are socially stunted. The reason that so many guys listen to pick-up artists and other self-esteem preaching weirdos is probably because they don't know how to talk to any woman they find attractive without first determining if they can bang them. I met a couple of them in college and they would stare down every girl they saw and affect this unusual, sort of aloof personality when trying to carry on a conversation with them.

I feel like jank is always way overstated...at least by people like the turd quoted on the last page. You'd think the game is actively unplayable when really it's just got some rough animations or a clunky interface or whatever.

Tired of GAFers oppressing CIS men and they com-pew-tah games. 60 fps is just another SJW thought exercise.

The only mod I remember having to set for STALKER was a patch for extended resolutions iirc.

I've actually never played the game modded.
It ran fine for me...
