Even the PS1 appreciation thread is in community and that thread doesn't have nearly as much regular posting as mods think it does. The way things are going now, every non-news thread is going to community even if it's not a community. Disabling the threads from being seen from plain sight, and thus getting less views.

Where's the sense in that?

You are months (more like years) late to this. They want less threads "clogging up" gaming-side. At the same time, they want people to post in the "community threads," but people ignore that side-tab. It's a catch-22 that works for neither.

I'm not late to this. They first started doing this when I made NegroGAF. I know full well what they're doing.

But never had all of those OTs or even appreciation threads in Community until recently. The appreciation threads being there is shocking and it wasn't there a few weeks ago. If Ethelred made his Why DS rocks thread it'd be placed in the forum garbage bin AKA community forum at this point.

all those were handwaved as "not reasonable" or "moving to community won't change that". of course now it gets 75% less posts, much less driveby posting, no bigger name FG players, little to no actual help/talk about FG strategy, no links from outside sites, and is now a mainly a resource for posting about video game tits or hitting on other posters.

That forum doesn't even pay mods but for some reason has always had a small roster and little to no hierarchy despite the size. You just know that plenty of people would volunteer to be glorified janitors just to keep out the trash and direct discussion in large OTs that are now in community but nah.

The new fighting game thread is interesting.

Here's why:

1. it's pretty clear from the thread that the OP wants an inclusive and open environment, free of the cliques that define the fgc so that it's easy for newcomers to feel relaxed to come in and ask questions to get better.

2. You put the thread in community.

3. The entire point of the thread was to be inclusive as possible, but the reason EL made the community forums to begin with was to make the forum more inclusive. By putting the fighting game noob thread in the community forum, you now make it an exclusive thread because less people will see it.

Thus, killing the entire point of the thread.

It's going to be interesting to watch. And roll one eye's at.

It's interesting in the sense that neogaf is essentially telling us to not use its site.

This FGC game clique thing though, it's a thing in the larger FGC but it's never been an issue on GAF...it's oddly come up a few times today regarding GAF specifically though. It's kinda funny because the only game that has been "discriminated" on GAF is DOA, but the fans of it on that site prove everything right that people think about it. People mentioned Tekken being "hated" on but the only person that does that is AAK, who is an uptight taco and a Tekken player. 

edit: there's also a bit of a bias left against Smash players on GAF but they have earned that reputation judging by every tourney I've ever been to with Smash there. Dudes define "shut ins with poor hygiene". Hell that was that thing posted today about a Smash scene getting banned from a venue over pooping in the trash cans.

Almost every single shot is moving or panning, every single shot is wide angle, the camera is moving fast, everything just seems too modern like a YouTube movie made on a 5D MKII with a 14mm lens. It just really pissed me off. It doesn't really feel cinematic.

The movie was pretty good though! Leo's acting was superb as usual, and the story was great. Just the filming pissed me off.
