How many people on NeoGAF actually see themselves as SJWs or GamerGaters?
I imagine very, very few. Most people just want to talk about games and joke around in the Off-Topic.
Suddenly everyone just seemed to get a stick up their butt. Either you were a saint or the worst scum ever.
And a lot of the mods were as much on board with the occasional Hot Woman thread as I was but now it is like "no no, we don't like that sort of thing"

I was also continuously banned for very bullshit reasons. I think I earned 2 or 3 legit bans tops (and not even that. One was for making a spoiler in a GoT show thread that had a detail from the book, while explicitly saying the spoiler was a detail from the book. I felt like I could do it since another guy did the very same thing before me. Guess who did and who didn't get banned). The rest were actually like: "we've looked on your history and we'll assume everything you say has ill intent".
The narrative has been set up pretty clear, and I think there's no going back. While people like angelus errare can make honestly demeaning posts towards other uses every single day and after being banned over... 16 times still only gets a biweekly ban, others fall rather quickly as soon as they deviate from the consensus. This consensus is normally called the hivemind.
And then you have the whole Hot ryu, showing the double standards they have. It's so wrong to have a nipple normal map on a woman with clothes on SFV (I think it was cammy), yet Ryu going all open chest with nipples is deserving of a fanbase cult. It's like they need to be against every aspect that was established in society just to be cool. Dunno, it feels pretty silly.

Great summary of Gaf now compared to when I first joined. Got banned a little bit ago with the message along the lines of "Take my homophobic bullshit elsewhere" when I compare how aggressive they are about gays and how it's seen as aggressive as those militant atheist shove it into people's face.
The "community" now is just tripping over each other to out do how "open minded" and "progressive" they are. All boundries be damned and considered oppressive and "blocking progress". Like every game without fail will have someone make a thread asking "Is this racist?" "Is this sexist?" or some other social justice theme essay.

I don't know. I consider myself pretty open minded and equal rights to all. But I also believe in moderations and boundries. I can't expect everyone to have the same values as me, and I respect that. I would suggest maybe you consider my perspective. But I'm not going to strong arm you into it. Just that they started ganging up and said "If you're not with us you're against us" and "Well, maybe you're not as open minded and supportive as you say" Then get banned from it kinda bummed me out a little. It was just a 2 week ban, but I haven't really motivated to log back in since.
I guess after a certain point of those atmosphere of the overly progressive tone I did start being a bit snarky towards them. Like pushing back. Doesn't help when the mods seems to get worst over time. All with their special agendas and double standards. The outrage olympic rages on another year with mods approval. I posted this here to just kinda vent my frustrations and maybe for someone to listen to. Chances are I'll be on "the list" now. Which kinda sucks since I rarely post and I do like to do trades and stuff in the sales and trade thread.
