Regular New 3DS Finally Coming To North America
« on: August 31, 2015, 09:40:32 PM »
As part of an Animal Crossing bundle.

I figured this would happen after I finally got a New XL a few weeks ago.   :lol :-\

Not sure if this is Gamestop-exclusive or not...already pre-ordered the bundle there.  I figure I can get most of the cost back after I sell my original XL, New XL, and maybe those cover plates if anyone cares.  I still have my white Japanese N3DS cover plates that I can slap on to replace them.

The XL is too big for my girly hands. The regular edition 3ds' appeal to me more because I like how they look more. This is customizable and you can change the plates. It's also really cute. Regular 3ds' also tend to be better made than XL's.

I'm going to import a JP one for JP games though. I may get this one too down the line because I hate the XL.

Besides the size, the aesthetic is a little different (with the interchangeable faceplates and the colored "SFC" buttons) and the smaller screen just looks better for 3DS games, IMO.  Was never a fan of the blown-up XL image.  And the top screen doesn't wobble when you open the system up.

I appreciate the bigger screen of the XL a lot. MH4U would have been slightly more of a pain to play with the regular New 3DS IMO.

Still, I was set on buying the regular size if it came out here same time as the XL, but alas, we just got the XL so I got that. It doesn't look as cool but I've grown accustomed to the screen. Only thing is I sometimes don't bring it places cause it's just slightly too large. #firstworldproblems :'(

When your screen is 240p or whatever you want a smaller screen. The XL is also too damn big and heavy to carry around.

Did they fix the screen wobble yet

It's no surprise Americans need a bigger 3ds with their fat, fat hands.

To be honest, I would've gotten the regular N3DS over the XL for the faceplates and the neat color buttons alone.

But since I already just bought the XL, I don't think I'm going to switch. The big screen is such a nice feature, but I agree with those saying it feels too heavy in your pocket. It honestly does.  :lol Still a great system though regardless.
