Destiny used to be a real game

Before they turned it into babies first mmo lootgame

“Story missions [before the reboot] always began with a Communique from a character,” said a source. “They were 30-45 second cutscenes of the NPC setting up the mission context. Osiris announcing a dramatic discovery about the Vex and asking you to dig up an ancient relic on Mars, or the Crow calling for help from the middle of a firefight with Fallen on Venus. And then every mission ended with a full cutscene, three to five minutes"

Good article, but honestly in regards to the story it almost makes me feel better that it shipped the way it did. the original story sounded crappy. it's telling that most of the taken king was wrote by a mostly new team yet still sounds better than all the year one content.

Honestly never got the appeal of the game. Especially for someone who might actually like a real mmo. The fact that people continuously grind on it is baffling to me.

But to each his own.

How is a game with more game less of a real game?

It's a failed attempt at making a new Hero's Duty, just like Titanfall. :trash

From what I have read the impressions of the original story were bad, really bad.

Apparently the story was a disaster that was not even possible given the time they had.

Just read the article. Sounds like a complete mess.

Very similar to the development process of sports games where you have only a year to create a new thing and the constant pressure of keeping up with that schedule basically stops any major changes and basically its all iterations on small design ideas.

Not surprising based on the gameplay I've seen.
