The histamines in Shiraz prevent me from ever opting for it long-term, and plus I'd pee-aye for IPA.

...I guess that doesn't really work.

For clarification, when I say Shiraz I mean a real bad Shiraz from Oz. Yellow Tail tier, if you will. Not a Syrah.

it matters not what man imbibes; the abyss, she is infinite, and can never be sated.

Not big on either type but I'd go with IPAs, since I'm starting to develop a taste for them lately.

Depends entirely on the IPA. Sorry for the non-answer.

I enjoy IPA's, along with a variety of other beers.

Too much of a dirt person to appreciate wine in any capacity.

There are a lot of variables to consider. For example, this morning I realized that without modern refrigeration an IPA would eventually turn into a plain old pale ale which no one really hates because no one really drinks them whereas the Shiraz would not be similarly improved.

Neither option fits my unique circumstance, so I abstain.

If you want a bottle of wine in that price range you'd better be homeless.

:badass is my tossing the final third of a 10 dollar cigar that bored me last night, putting a price floor on wine is :money. :ufup

Anyway, I see that Guinness makes an IPA now. This seems a suitable counterpart to Yellow Tail Shiraz.

Also each substance is replaced daily by my staff of Boreans willing to trade up to well paid servitude (like Cuban doctors, but in reverse) so each substance is essentially store bought when you imbibe. (i.e. You can't age either one into being better.)

please, as if 90% of people can tell the difference between a 20$ bottle and an 80$ bottle. Hell, even tasters grade wine better when they think it's more expensive

Some of the shit that's higher in price I've just been like eh, versus the 13-15 range where I've found a lot of stuff I like.

I guess this would be relevant if I had said something like, "Price is no object for wine, don't drink on a budget," but instead I took the position that wine has a price / quality floor you shouldn't dip below. Thanks to fortified wines not exactly being a highly competitive market I drink a lot of bad wine at 20 a bottle.

Ridiculous as in "I reject one of the principal functions of the pricing mechanism in a market limited by supply and demand despite volumes of economic literature to the contrary" or as in "despite accepting the principal functions of the pricing mechanism in a market limited by supply and demand I choose to believe that my preferences override them because clearly the exception that proves the rule is a market for nondurable luxury goods"?

Regardless, it means a lot to me that I'll be in your thoughts. Though ngl you're probably the only one, and not in a good way

When you say Framboise, I hope you don't mean Lindemanns. That stuff has so much extra sugar you might as well drink Sprite with Kool-Aid powder thrown in. Trying hard not to be a snob (I know I am), but lambic shouldn't have added sugars. :-/

It is really easy to find. Safeway beer. Lindemanns adds sugar because they're afraid people won't like true lambic. The only unsweetened Lindemmans beer is their Grand Cru Geueze, which is really awesome.

Lambic is time intensive and not cheap to make, and there's been a huge resurgence of the style with beer nerds, so the stuff sells out pretty damn fast. Oh the days when Cantillon languished on the store shelves.

Top comment: "just gonna say the only negative thing about this one is a hint of cat pee in the nose, and a bit fishy too, tastes exquisite, plum is subdued but present, I actually prefer this to the gueuze they have though they are both exceptional beers, gorgeous and infinitely enjoyable"

I think I'll name my first home-brew "Hint of Cat Pee."

Dunno what else is worth buying, my mom likes Chardonnays but I'm kind of meh on them in general.

I saw that. Some hops like Simcoe and Citra can have cat pee notes to them, but I don't know what that guy is smoking. It's a tart lambic with plums.
