I picked up tickets for Friday and Saturday.

Had the three-day ticket in my cart but the site crashed.

Got Friday and Saturday as well. Sunday last year made me realize how much I don't need to be there for all three days. I only showed up late in the afternoon (hungover from game dev karaoke the night before) and everything was pretty pathetic. I imagine my dev friends will be going out after the show closes but I don't need to be there all day for that.

If you feel like heading downtown that night a group of friends is going to the Hong Kong. It's pretty much the absolute scuzziest bar in Boston with constant z-grade karaoke, will be awesome.

4:00pm - Twitch Town Hall - Dragonfly Theatre
7:30pm - Giant Bomb E3 2016 Planning Kickoff - Albatross Theatre
8:30pm - Friday the 13th: The Game - Pushing the Boundaries of Horror - Dragonfly Theatre

Saturday
3:00pm - Mega64 Panel You Won’t Like But Will Enjoy Watching - Bumblebee Theatre
6:00pm - Polaris Presents: Markiplier & Friends - Albatross Theatre
7:30pm - Pitch Your Game Idea - Bumblebee Theatre

Most of these except Giant Bomb and Mega64 are optional timewasters. Always fun to hit up some random panels, you don't know what to expect.

This is the first year I won't be there on Sunday. Past couple years I spent most of that day walking around playing as many indie games as possible to fill the time.

Was a (mostly) sunny 75-degree in Boston today. Easily the best weather PAX East has ever enjoyed.

OMYGODTHEPOKEMONBOOTH

It was split up into an area for Pokken and an area for the TCG online game. Participating earns you stamps which could be redeemed for cards and booster packs.

Pokken!

I didn't look up any floor map beforehand and went about trying to find the Mega64 booth all on my own. I entered their "aisle" and was like, "Hmm, this seems like the likeliest place for them to be." And there they were! They're at the very corner of the show floor.

Nintendo!

Got to see this year's 3DS/FPS GOTY in person!

Handheld lounge~

Rock Band 4 had a whole stage, was awesome.

PlayStation VR had a fairly large booth all to itself.

Dunno what this was about but it was cool.

Square-Enix's booths the past couple years have been consistently impressive.

Tons of kiosks for Final Fantasy XV.

Waiting in the Giant Bomb panel line with Fistful and Mrs. Fistful (neither are pictured.)

We got amazing seats. Fistful was so excited.

Patrick dressed up as a hotdog and served room-temp hotdogs to the panel crew and audience.

This led to a 1-minute hotdog-eating contest between Vinny and Dan. Vinny won handily.

And that's it for day one! Couldn't have asked for better weather and while I only attended one panel and played no games, I still had a blast as I always do. The show floor is just so amazing and imposing I don't think I'll ever be bored with it. At least, I hope not.

Day two will bring the Mega64 and nudemacusers, can't wait!

PS- I also saw three kilts today.

Also Derrick fucks a recycling bin.

Amazing panel. They showed an upcoming video on Miitomo and two rejected endings for their Nintendo World Championships/E3 video. After that it was Q&A with some good questions and amazing answers. When they post their version of the panel you'll DEFINITELY see me in it, if you know who to look for.

One of the absolute highlights of my PAX experience so far, even after five of them.

We didn't spend a lot of time at the convention center on Saturday, maybe 4 hours or so.

I almost bought the Musterbrand Aperture Science jacket they had at the WeLoveFine Valve store. Sticker shock sent me away... but I still may buy it online.

Spent the rest of Saturday recuperating then ate at a really nice Bistro in Malden.

Sunday we spent the first half of the day exploring the area around Post Office square... Quincy Market, the Warf, etc. We saw a street performer, ate a cookie from a truck, relaxed at the waterfront, then we found a cool comic book store called Newbury Comics which was huuuuge and seemed to me that it could only barely be considered a comic book store since it had barely any comics and more toys and shirts and shit.

Then we headed off to Vermont! Currently in a sick cabin in the woods. Today we're going to be checking out the Ben and Jerry's factory then we'll be exploring Jericho and Burlington.
