Dunno if I can keep the streak alive this year brehs, I actually have to do some Christmas shopping in-store this year, no more 100% Amazon Christmas spending.

and on Thanksgiving my mom said she's mixing Christmas music into our traditional Marvin Gaye/Curtis Mayfield holiday playlist

Considering pulling an Evillore and wearing headphones to the store. Doubt I can do that during Thanksgiving dinner

Always just had intimate Thanksgiving/Christmases when I actually had memories of shit. Basically my dad didn't bother with extended fam much for anything, if they were in town he'd humor them but eh, mom's was pretty much dead (in more ways than one) by the time I was 5.

Thanksgiving/Christmas was basically mom made a more extravagant dinner than usual and we'd watch football with no drama

I have a 2 1/2 long drive to thanksgiving dinner, and it's really hard to get stoned at my aunt/grandmas house. That's about the extent of my holiday struggles as most of my family are pretty politically neutral and Christmas has pretty much gone extinct to us. Tradition being eroded by apathy >>>

I'll be taking an hour of trains to eat a plate of Thanksgiving food at a half-assed "Irish pub" in Osaka by myself.

Actually it's more likely to just be turkey at a hookah shop where other expat game devs like to hang out.

But I really want the trimmings.

Then I look at pictures of Syrian refugee kids sleeping in the streets and I feel like a fucking cur for whining about it.

So the hookah bar's "turkey plate" turned out to be REALLY, REALLY GOOD, and the guy managed to turn out 24 massive plates of Thanksgiving goodness, eliminating all his stock entirely. No leftovers. Pretty sure that's the first time I've ever heard of that. The guy put green chiles in his mashed potatoes; very nice.

Also met several cool new people.

Excellent evening. A+++ seller, would gobble that bird again.
