System Shock 3 is coming?!

Looks like some former Looking Glass employees dude are making System Shock 3, even under the offical name. Thought that franchise was stuck in limbo due to rights issues, but it seems like these were complety sorted out.

Really interested in this casue Bioshock never felt like a proper follow up to SS2.

Never played System Shock, never got into Bioshock (for more then 45 minutes enjoying the setting/atmosphere).

Not that much excitement so.

Try SS2 then? Graphics are very dated and it's more complex than modern games, but imo it's never been surpassed when it comes to the total package of world, atmosphere and gameplay diversity. Controls are a bit outdated for a modern game maybe. One of the very few first person games, that can be honestly called adventure/rpg game and not just a shooter with other elements tacked on.

Apparently the team is also working on a successor to the Ultima Underworld games. Cool to hear, although i hope they don't try to do too much at the same time.

I also wonder how this is going to get financed. KS incoming?

Time to fix that. Get the mod that turns off the wrench breaking speed, though.

I played SS2 for the first time a few years back and it still holds up wonderfully, especially from an atmosphere standpoint.

All we need is an Ultima revival at this point. Lots and lots of old PC franchises back. But I doubt EA will jump on the train.

i don't like the bioshock series at all so I'm glad he isn't working on this

Ken Levine has done some good stuff, but it sounds like he's difficult to work for, and difficult to work with. If BS: Infinite is what Levine turns out, I'm über ready for something without The Ken.

I'm fine with Bioshock being it's own thing, but SS3 had better be a survival-horror RPG regardless of whether Ken Levine is working on it.
