Finally tried a round on PS4. It feels indistinguishable from the 360 version. I expected the visuals would be more ramped up. The GARAGE is nicer; that's about it.

Whaaat, everyone is talking about a big upgrade visual wise. Weather effect, swaying grass etc.

Got the final upgrade for the Tiger 2, but that made me cocky (like outnumbered 3-1 with a Tier 9? no problem Ill exchange shots) and I ruined my k/d a bit.

There's an Achievement for taking out four tanks in a British tank. I've made it to three tanks on several occasions in the last week. Even had a shell land on a fourth just after someone else had taken it out. Man, oh, man, oh, man. Frustrating.

116k/154k xp to the E75, premium ran out. Struggle will start now. Maybe I'll just get another month of premium, prob better investment then buying some cheap game.

I think I want to get a E100 and then go for an IS-7 or T62A.

There's an Achievement for each nation's tanks, but they've varied them in later updates. The other ones are all grindy "get a Tier V" or "have these three high-Tier tanks simultaneously" (WTF). This UK one is the first one which is based in skill, and is most easily attained in lower-Tier matches.

Six or seven. I think I've got only one or two Top Gun medals, and I think it was before the Achievement for it was added. I've got a half dozen M badges for 1% performance, but haven't managed it once since the 'cheevo was added in DLC.

I'm also desirous of the Tier X tank, but I know it's a long ways off for me. I should have routed differently, because I'm better at playing a specialized role rather than the generalist role of Mediums, which is what my IX is. Next time I have Premium, I need to be thorough in grinding the IX if I ever want to get to X.

The last couple of sessions have re-emphasized how important consistent play is, but also just how much difference the team can make.

Wow, I never want to play Chinese tanks again. It was disheartening to have to re-grind for tanks I'd already unlocked. I think it gave me a couple free unlocks, but geez.

Yesterday in a 16 vs 16 game, I went off in my Medium to scout, hoping I'd get followed by my teammates. One guy did head out with me. We ended up wandering into a unified front of at least half the other team. That was briefly very exciting.

No, going off on my own is always a bad idea. Following the lemming train is also a bad idea. But going off alone, with only one dude as confirmed backup, I should have played much more conservatively and stayed hiding.

Don't worry, happens to everybody. Had a round today where me (In a medium Type 58) and one light tank were are entire right flank. Went well.....

@Aia: Seriously bro, you think a shitty drone can take down a modern tank like this? It has an anti missile defense system for one and reactive armor. Unless your drone is flying with a 150 MM canon you can fuggedabout it.

Don't know if you can already mount them on drones but effective anti-tank shoulder missiles are a thing for any advanced country army since the eighties at least, so it wouldn't be too surprising to be honest.

EDIT : To the best of my understanding, a Javelin is more than able to destroy a T80. ERA is often being touted as a great defensive measure but I believe proof of their efficiency is pretty scarce (for lack of massive conventional engagement between the most advanced militaries).

Fact is tanks have been de-emphasized because of that and other factors and no WWII style massive engagement of cutting edge tanks is to be expected in the foreseeable future. The Fulda Gap scenario itself was already pretty much wishful thinking once ICBM and MAD became a reality. Just look at the estimated production runs for the T90 compared to the T80 or T72.

Also Russia loves to announce lofty weapon platforms but has rarely delivered on its promises even just as a prototype. The russian "5th generation jet" / PAKFA / Sukhoi T50 has been in the oven for many years now and is still, according to what I can find via google, just a repackage of the Su35 (itself an upgraded Su27).

I mention that in passing but even irregardless of the relative tank resistance to missile tech, the main thing is that they are much less relevant to current strategy and tactics.

A couple of years of playing and I finally got a Radley medal.

T-34-1 (Chinese Medium) I got lucky in tiers and went on to kill 8 enemy players in a row to win the game!
