I assume that AiA isn't doing anything that actively destroys the global economy, so I'm not gonna judge him, but if you're a running a trillion-dollar bank and you pull some of these financial shenanigans that result in millions getting fired from their jobs, retirement funds being obliterated, and families being booted from their homes, then all I'm saying is that I'm not gonna be too upset if a torch-wielding mob shows up on your front porch and the cops just happen to be busy doing something else that day.

I never called you a monster nor do I think you are one, for the record. You're human, just like our unfortunate Dan. I believe the role of society should be to meet as many peoples needs as possible. I see allowing wealth and resources to be limitlessly collected is direct theft from society. Unmet needs create crime and violence as people do what they feel they must meet to their needs.

Well that's just where we differ and why I said this conversation goes nowhere. I would accept being irrelevant in society because I don't have a need to be important. I could argue you might not really either, and it's more about safety and security for your family but I won't pretend to know your mind. You're right, of course, that the rules are how they are and in order to get my needs met I too have to navigate the system as is. I just have different needs, so I find fulfillment in my small house in the woods with my family.
