Awesome! I'm not particularly interested in any of those titles, but it is nice knowing that I will be able to play them without buying another console.

selling my xbone this week. had fun with forza and killer instinct but there's really no point in owning one anymore lol.

literally all these games were the reason i bought one and they're now coming to PC. Sweet! i'm glad they are supporting PC like this. i should probably also start looking into getting a new GPU since all these games look very demanding.

Welp...

Here's hoping that they don't change their mind again and stop after a couple of games, the way they did with Halo, Halo 2 and Gears.

It didn't even take that long...

unlike Alan Wake, Microsoft owns the IP, right? Same with Scalebound and GOW, don't they?

I wonder if the motivation for this is to push Windows 10 or just the maximize the profit on this very expensive to make game. Would like Scalebound a lot, but this is a pretty huge concession nonetheless.

This.

They have to find a way to try to justify costs on such a title when the xbox one userbase isn't the largest like the 360 was.

If Scalebound ends up on PC, it'll be the first system I never own since like fuck, Jaguar?

Hell I own 2 Wii-Us.  Was gonna buy a X1 just for Scalebound and maybe Crackdown 3 if it doesn't suck.

I still have no plans to buy an Xbone and more games coming to PC just further cements that I have no need for one.

Yeah, I mean even Killer Instinct is coming to PC this year.  I think the only games that haven't come to PC/PS4 or are not coming at this point are Sunset Overdrive and Halo/Forza stuff.  I dunno, I might still buy a X1 someday when it's even cheaper for Sunset since it looks fun, but it just doesn't scream buy-an-entire-system-for-one-game so still haven't.  Don't really care about Halo/Forza/Gears.  Scalebound is definitely going to be the deciding game for me, which is funny since I don't even like the Monhun genre at all and the game doesn't look interesting to me one bit; but just going by Kamiya's track record I'll shell out $400-500 for any new game from him.  Same with Takahashi, Matsuno, Mikami, Kojima.

Only thing I nearly relented with was Rock Band but I resisted that urge. This changes nothing

Not that I'm aware of. If MS owned it, why would they allow/want Remedy to PC port it?

You and I get along just fine except on this one point. Why do you so consistently want to crow about MS "failure" or Sony's "dominance," even though you don't have any kind of horse in this race?

It's one thing if you want to want to ride them about the innovations in the Xbox One, or even about taking them all out just based on noise from the consumers who weren't even necessarily going to buy One. Or you could be happy that PS4 has features which you enjoy, or whatever. But crowing from the sidelines at someone else's perceived hardship looks mean, and it doesn't even effect MS. It's just pollution in the local forum atmosphere.

Usually if something bothers me this much, it's indicative that I sport the same behavior and am unhappy with its presence in myself. If you can think of examples where I do this, I'd love to be warned against them.

So it seems like, yeah, if you've got a good PC and are willing to upgrade to Win 10 and use MS's windows store instead of Steam, you can pretty much not buy an Xbox One or possibly anymore Xbox consoles from this point on.

I'm happy.  Saves me money and space in the living room.

Sorry missed this before.

Im just very disappointed in the xbox one and the final years of the 360. MS fucked up bad and I hope this fails bad so that they will step up next gen if there is one for them.

Fyi I was way more into og xbox then ps2 and had a 360 before the ps3. Was also planning on getting the next xbox until they messed it all up.

Also love to hate on Nintendo for their weak shit for the last 15 years.

Thanks for the information. I never knew you had been an MS supporter. Feeling that they had fumbled would be an aggravating thing; I guess they went from your favored team to your hated one?

Not a supporter but the OG Xbox was a dream console for me.

Amazing hardware and visuals, western games (Kotor, Halo), best online for consoles (Rainbow Six, Midtown Madness). A PC in a box and I loved it. Those Splinter Cell graphics... so good. Really trumped the PS2 for me which I didn't care much for at all (FFX was a let down and I sold the console after I played that and DMC and REZ, only 3 games I played I think)

360 was also amazing, got one when Gears launched. That was THE next gen experience back then. Dead Rising, Kameo. I still prefer Gears (1)over Uncharted (1) Didnt get a PS3 until much later.

Then MS decided to piss away all goodwill and focus on America only with the Xbox one, delivering an overpriced, underpowered shit machine that was a big middle finger to their customer base. Not to mention what they had in mind in regards to used games. I swear only reason why the thing isn't burried yet is because some Americans remain loyal and this is where they play online with their friends.

The Xbox feels really underrated, outside of Halo. PS2 was so dominant, and Nintendo did well for the fanboys on their last console. Xbox had the best (if held back by PS2 often) crossplatform ports, a surprisingly good and diverse exclusive library (if in part because other consoles couldn't handle the games), some weird ass Microsoft published titles that they didn't seem to do any kind of QA/milestones on other than shipping (BLOOD WAKE), the first real makings of a seamless online platform, and the ability to crush small pets.

Also cords that snapped off instead of yanking the console down. Which people pretended was a serious issue, but I didn't experience it until the second wave of PS2 slims came out and the DS2 basically weighed more than the console.

That was a fun generation, I liked owning all the platforms. Last one I really felt a need to, in part because PC ports were often hot garbage while PC was also putting out good stuff that wasn't on consoles.

Also the Xbox did well for me as an XMBC box for a few years too.

When does Crimson Skies III come out?

Let's also not forget the GOAT xbox pad, the S version really put the DS2 to shame.

Also Sega games.

Also built in HDD.

@Wrath: For me it really isn't. Maybe PS1. But def not 2.

Not to get into list wars but when I look at IGNs top 100 PS2 games I just shake my head, cause either there were better versions on Xbox (Burnout, Splinter Cell, GTA) or better versions on PS1 (FF, Metal Gear) or on Gamecube (Res 4) or games I don't care about much (God of War). In all honesty there isn't a single PS2 game that got me as excited as Halo or Kotor.
