Another classic game 7 where the Indians lose. :/
Not mad though. They were underdogs in every series, yet still ALMOST went 11-2 in the post season (if they won that game 5 in Chicago). That's pretty crazy. The team didn't hit well for most of it and they had Josh Tomlin as their #2 starter.
This team was probably one of the least impressive "good" teams the Indians ever had. Even that 2007 team (which blew a 3-1 lead to the Red Sox in the ALCS) felt more impressive.
Normally I always try to minimize the role of management in baseball, but this year was one of those exceptions where management played a huge role in the overall success of the team.
Of course we have to be dicks here, but they definitely went further than they had any business going. Francona pulled every string correctly until Game 7, and that only didn't work out because Kluber and Miller finally ran out of gas (although I thought Miller should've started the 5th, but he gave up runs anyhow...). If they had their #2 and #3 starters, they probably win it all, even without Brantley.
Not only were the Cubs fucking stacked as hell this year, they barely had any injuries to deal with all year. And even Schwarber came back for the World Series.
