And the Hits keep on coming....

http://www.ajc.com/news/sports/baseball/braves-fire-gonzalez-as-manager/nrN5k/

I feel like he kind of got hosed a bit on this- realistically, he should have never been brought back this season.

However, I'm not going to miss him as his bullpen use and propensity to construct shitty line ups have cost us games, without question.

At this point, I'm fine with bringing up our position prospects as soon as the front office feels like it won't hurt their development.

Ah, thought he said ever.

This one is classic because the fans decide they've had enough and are gonna go ham on some players.

BTW look at how skinny the players are before roids. Yikes.

Havings sat through Indians for years and years eventually somebody has to be the fall guy for shitty teams. It's rarely the GM.

Well, we already fired our GM in late 2014, so that for sure wasn't gonna happen. I also like the job that Coppy and Hart have done restocking the minor league system (dat Shelby Miller trade, tho) so I feel like they should get another 3 or so years, as rebuilds take some time despite what they might have to say to the contrary to the press about competing sooner rather than later.

Took a lot not to start crying while watching the pre-game ceremony for Jose Fernandez. Holy fuck. I don't know how the Marlins are even playing this game, they were still crying while warming up on the field.

And Dee Gordon hits a home run (his first of the year) in the first Marlins AB and cries while running around the bases. I'm done.

Great game.  Indians deserved to lose after what they pulled in games 5 & 6.  But man did they fight for it tonight

Another classic game 7 where the Indians lose. :/

Not mad though. They were underdogs in every series, yet still ALMOST went 11-2 in the post season (if they won that game 5 in Chicago). That's pretty crazy. The team didn't hit well for most of it and they had Josh Tomlin as their #2 starter.

This team was probably one of the least impressive "good" teams the Indians ever had. Even that 2007 team (which blew a 3-1 lead to the Red Sox in the ALCS) felt more impressive.

Normally I always try to minimize the role of management in baseball, but this year was one of those exceptions where management played a huge role in the overall success of the team.

Of course we have to be dicks here, but they definitely went further than they had any business going. Francona pulled every string correctly until Game 7, and that only didn't work out because Kluber and Miller finally ran out of gas (although I thought Miller should've started the 5th, but he gave up runs anyhow...). If they had their #2 and #3 starters, they probably win it all, even without Brantley.

Not only were the Cubs fucking stacked as hell this year, they barely had any injuries to deal with all year. And even Schwarber came back for the World Series.

Pretty much. Once Miller got into any trouble, it was basically fumes this team was running on. What a ride though.
