Paragon - Early Access starting March 17th
« on: March 11, 2016, 03:20:35 AM »
Anyone gonna play this MOBA from Epic?

You can get a founders pack for 20 bucks which will give you a few months head start (no wipes).

Main game is gonna be F2P with everything attainable without spending money.

Thought the reveal was a bit meh, but the game looks kind of cool, has that EPIC slick arena fighting feel to it. Still a bit rough but months away from a real release.

Checked out a few videos, I have no idea why Tencent ever greenlit this trainwreck. Looks like a super sterile, super boring Smite clone.

I'll try any F2P for a little bit, just to see what kind of tweaks they've brought to the model.

After downloading game took like 35 min to install (7gb)

Played one round and the gameplay is very slow

Yeah my nephew loves league of legends and smite but he did not like this one. I have no frame of reference as I don't really play mobas.

Ive put a 40 hours into DOTA 2 and maybe as many into HOTS. This doesn't feel as tight or fun. HOTS is definately more my speed and fun for casuals.

Played two more games today and deleted this.

Way too slow gameplay for my liking.

If anything this makes me want Blizzard to make a WoW battlegrounds console game or something, but thats what I always wanted

Started playing this now that it went open beta.

Riktor feels like a monster if you can land hooks and body block well. Once you start building up a level / card point lead, people start panicking when you reel them in. I tried Muriel in solo queue too, but the pugs i played with lacked any sort of coordination, making it a frustrating endeavor.

I think the matches go on for too long, possibly because minion tower damage is too low. The issue gets compounded when people disconnect from the game, which is to be expected during matchmaking these first few days. The real problem is that there's no "safe to leave" status that other mobas have, so you're at the mercy of the surrender option, which people pay zero attention to.

I don't know how to feel about the card system yet. You basically set up a deck of items which determines your progression in-game. Once you hit a point during the game where you no longer need a specific item, you can discard it to refund the points you used to purchase it, but you can't equip it again. I'm looking forward to putting together some wacky decks to switch up my character's play style, but if the cards aren't balanced well, then it's going to become a pain collecting specific ones to keep up with the meta.

I'll probably put a lot more time into it during the next few weeks. If anyone wants to party up in the future, my username is docbon.

Also, they totally based their newest character on that Needs More Cowbell sketch:
