This is the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Can someone explain this to me?  What's funny?  Is it because his perspective is already in first person?  Not sure I understand.

It's just the weirdness and newness of it. In a normal (Non-VR) racing game you don't exit your body and then see your virtual body from the side.

He gets up from his chair and moves to an adjacent one. The perspective of the camera in the game then is in the passenger seat of the car but the 3D model of the driver is still in the driver's seat...and it has no head because people working on the VR implementation probably thought it would be a waste of resources.

He's still driving the car from the passenger seat. Along with them not rendering a head/model for the body because the developers never expected people wearing the VR headset to get up, move a seat over, and then look at their headless body.
